Lucina woke up, or rather regained consciousness, to the sound of footsteps coming down the steps, that’s when she realized she was lying on the floor and came to the conclusion that during the night the nail had broken and she had been dropped to the ground. Knowing that she could have made her escape then frustrated her but at the same time she knew she was too tired and too weak, and upon waking up she knew she still was, to actually do any more than curl up in the pool of blood that was gathering around her still. She sat up drowsily, shivering a bit from the cold cement, and was just in time to see Shay finish off walking down the last few steps in a cool and collected manner.

“Ah, look, you’re finally awake.” Shay laughed as he walked towards her. “Tell me, how do you feel?”

She felt her heart start beating faster in fear as he approached. “Get away from me you piece of-”

“Lucina…” Shay interrupted with a warning tone in his voice. “I wouldn’t say that.”

“I’ll say what I like, just know that there is no word bad enough to describe you!” Lucina tried to stand up but her knee gave out under her weight and she collapsed to the ground.

Shay’s face seemed to darken with anger and he stalked forward. “What was that?”

Lucina shrunk back and felt herself starting to tremble in fear as she was cornered. Shay smirked as he saw her terror and kicked her in the stomach, he laughed as she let out a short scream of pain. She curled up defensively and glared at him with pain filled eyes, however, this time she stayed silent. Lucina flinched as another blow, this one a fist, landed on the side of her head. Shay continued to glare down at her before backing away and fixing his work uniform.

“Anything else you would like to say to me?” Shay sneered as he looked down at her blood-covered figure.

“One day… you’ll get what you deserve Shay.” Lucina spat weakly in anger. “I’ll laugh when you do.”

“If you’re still alive.” He taunted.

“I know I’ll be, without me you can’t have your precious ceremonies.”

Shay tilted his head as if to think about what she’d said before a cruel smile came over his face. “Then I guess I’ll give you pain in another form… you know Ziggy is only alive because of life support at the moment… perhaps if someone were to pull the plug it would kill him.”

“No!” Lucinas pleaded. “Don’t kill him.”

Shay grinned, knowing that he had found her weak spot. “Begging won’t stop me. You chose this when you insulted me, now lets see someone you care about, the last person you care about, die all because of you… Though to think about it, he is in the hospital because of you as well, either way you’re the one who’s killing him, it doesn’t matter who pulls the plug, it’s your fault he was even injured to be taken to the hospital in the first place.”

Lucina couldn’t do anything, she was frozen in horror at Shay’s words, if her brother were still alive he would have stopped Shay, he would have kept this monster under control… Then again, Erick wasn’t there. She had to defend herself now. She watched as Shay turned his back to her and took out his phone, while he was distracted with calling who she could guess from the conversation was Todd, she managed to unfreeze a bit and started looking around for anything to attack him with. Unfortunately that was across the room, Lucina glanced at Shay before half crawling and half dragging herself over to the glove-weapon, she had almost reached it but that’s when Shay hung up and turned back to her. She scrambled to grab it and put it on, Shay paused as she turned to attack him with it before deciding to make up his mind and stepped closer.

“Go ahead, try it.” Shay told her menacingly. “If you favor Ziggy’s life you won’t though.”

Lucina put her back against the wall as he came closer before lashing her hand out at his face; to her surprise Shay recoiled with a short hiss of pain before lunging at her and pinning her down. Lucina struggled weakly beneath him, though she didn’t miss the red cuts bleeding down his face, and she tried to cut him again. This time Shay was prepared and grabbed her wrist before ripping off the glove and slamming her head against the ground. She went limp as the world threatened to go dark, Shay stood up and Lucina thought he was leaving… until pain went through her back as he stabbed two of the blades on ether side of her spine and dragged them downward, she tried to scream but Shay choked her until she blacked out.

“I warned you what would happen.” He chided her unconscious form. “I guess you don’t care about him as much as you say.”

Shay quickly washed off most of the blood with a towel and glanced back down at her, his last attack hadn’t hit any organs, he had been careful about that, but it was painful enough that she wouldn’t be moving for a while. The only thing he would have to worry about now was if Detective Martinez, Dr. Morgan, or Detective Hanson decided to stop by for a little chat. Soon however that would be taken care of, Todd would be coming by the keep an eye on Lucina and he would be able to lie to them about how she had gone with him to work… when they showed up to question him he would put on the act of how she had become emotional over Ziggy’s death and ran off. Then they could just go on a wild goose chase to waste their time while Shay kept his little secret punching bag locked up. The idea was perfect in his mind, all he had to do was kill Ziggy and without being caught, which shouldn’t be hard considering he’d gotten away with murder before.
