Chapter 4.

I couldn't believe my ears and my luck. This shy-looking girl was a NECROMANCER? 

"Eric, I know what you're thinking. We are NOT befriending her just so you can use her abilities to revive Lani," says Meztli. 

"Yeah, I know," I lie. Niiko had finished talking, and it seemed that most of the guys were smitten by her. 

"Her voice, it's so ANGELIC!" exclaims a guy from the Angelic table. Niiko hears him, and smiles sweetly at him, causing him to faint. 

"I swear, how could someone this cute have such a dark power?!" 

"Please go out with me Miss Tanaka!"

"Oi, I was gonna say that!" 

Niiko ignores all of them and walks back to our table, choosing to sit beside Meztli.

"Hi everyone! I hope I can get along with all of you!" she declares. 

"Guys, I- I have to go to the bathroom, see- see you soon!" Meztli stutters out, before running out of the hall. Niiko looked confused.

"Huh, I wonder what made him so shy. Anyway guys, what're your names?" Niiko asks cheerfully. 

"I'm Ehecatl, this is Eric, and the guy who just ran off was my twin, Meztli," Ehecatl introduces all of us. 

"Nice to me you all! What's your thing, Ehecatl?" Niiko inquires.

"Well, my brother and I can both shapeshift like the Navajo skin-walkers," Ehecatl explains. 

"Whoa, that's so cool! What about you, Eric?"

"Demon," I grunt. 

"Don't mind him, he suffered a great loss recently," says Ehecatl.

"Oh, I see.....well, you gotta move on at some point, right?" ventures Niiko.

"Shut up. Just shut up, I don't want to talk about it." I mutter. 

"Well, okaaaay....." Niiko seemed taken aback, but quickly recovered. "Oh look, Meztli's back! Hi!" she waves enthusiastically at him.

"Oh, uh........hiNiikohowareyoudoingimmeztli!" says my friend super fast. 

"I'm sorry, what?" 

Meztli takes a sip of water. "Sorry. I'm Meztli, how are you doing?" 

"I'm doing quite fine, Meztli! You know, you and your brother have amazing abilities! I wish I had abilities as cool as yours!" says Niiko, looking at Meztli with a mixture of awe and curiosity. 

"Ahahaa, it's really not that big of a deal......" Meztli's face turned beet-red.

"But it is! You gotta show me sometime!" says Niiko, practically jumping up and down. 

"I- sure, I guess-" 

"Yay!" says Niiko. For some reason, she really got on my nerves, as cute as she may be.

"Eric? You've been really silent, you gonna say anything or.....?" 

"No, I do not feel like saying anything at the moment, Ehecatl." I stand up. "I'm heading up to my room, goodbye." 

I could tell I was receiving strange looks from my friends, but I ignored them all. 

Once out of the hall and back in my own room, I flipped open the locket with my and Lani's photo in it. I stared at the photo for a while before closing the locket and lying back on the bed. Just hang in there for a little more, Lani, I'm coming for you......
