Hero POV
As the water washes over my exhausted body, images of Jo flood my mind behind closed eyes. I could have stayed on FaceTime with her for the rest of the day. We had gone plenty of rounds, one after the other, back at our place in LA before. As much as my mind and my body was nearly sedated after we had both finally reached our building release, it was like I just wanted more. Needed more. The hunger never fully fed. And since we were now so far apart for the next few weeks, I knew that shit would eat me alive until my craving was satisfied in person once again.
But instead, I had work to do and limited time to get ready. The hotel shower was smaller than what I had been used to, my head almost above the curtain rod. The hot water beat onto my skin and I finally felt myself calm down and relax before washing my body and my hair and turning off the water.
Meredith informed me that the same driver would be back to pick me up by four. I had to meet with the photographer and go over campaign ideas for what I had ultimately come for. The brand's fall collection would be coming out soon, and as brand ambassador, I was to partake in all things Ferragamo like my contract entailed.
It had been a while since I had been in front of the camera. Quarantine didn't supply much opportunity for work and all, which didn't bother me since I had been spending almost all my time with Jo inside the four small walls on the second floor of her apartment building. But, I would be lying if I said I wasn't itching to work and do my duties.
By 3:57, I had dressed in black denim jeans and a white Ferragamo hoodie and matching Air Force 1's. Casual but fitted, just like I liked. I took the elevator down to the main floor and saw Daniel, the same driver as earlier, standing with his arms crossed in front of him near the front door of the hotel. He was still dressed head to toe in a black fitted suit, giving off the impression that he was a highly paid chauffeur. As I made my way closer to him, he gave me a slight nod and then opened the large glass door beside him, offering me a way out. His car was parked directly out front in a reserved drop off/pick up area and I didn't wait for him to open the back door for me, instead pulling it open by the handle myself as a capable human being before sliding onto the cool leather seat of the suv.
"Caster Studios is about five miles away, Mr. Tiffin." Daniel offered as he buckled his seat belt in the drivers seat.
"Thanks," I replied, fishing my phone out of my back pocket.
Jo: good luck in your meeting. love you
I read the text as I smiled to myself.
Hero: I love you too. Don't have too much fun tonight
I liked that she was going out with her sister. It made me feel less bad about leaving her thousands of miles away. She had someone who she loved still in the same city and I trusted that her sister would keep her safe when I couldn't be around.
Within fifteen minutes, the car pulled up to yet another high rise as cars bustled around us on the street. I opened the door and headed for the front doors, thanking Daniel for the ride and letting him know I would get ahold of him when I was done. I didn't know how long this meeting would take, but I was fucking exhausted from not only the flight but also getting off earlier.. unexpected to say the least. The hotel bed seemed comfortable enough when I had laid on it earlier and it would no doubt be an early night for me.
"Mr. Tiffin! Welcome to Caster Studios! We've been expecting you. Right this way," a woman, probably early thirties dressed in a dark navy pant suit ushered me through the doors and across the large white tiled floor. Her heels clicked away as I followed behind her and I could sense eyes watching me as soon as I got further inside.
