Work at the prison was typically slow for Sam. His days were quiet, save for a few security incidents that happened mysteriously from time to time. Dream being the only prisoner made it easy as well. And since he was locked in the most heavily secured cell, he wasn't expecting him to get out any time soon.
Today, like many other days, he's sitting at his desk near the front of the prison. There's a book in his hands, one about redstone that he had probably already read.
However, he's surprised when the buzzer linked to the front portal goes off all of a sudden. He's slightly confused since he hadn't been expecting anyone. After setting his book aside he opens the portal to let them through.
A young woman steps through, maybe about 22 or so. She walks over to the desk with confidence in her step, however her face is written with concern.
"Are you Sam? The warden?"
"State your business," Sam tells her warily. He didn't recognize her from the SMP, she was a stranger, and he didn't particularly trust strangers in his line of work.
"I'm here to visit the prisoner," She replies.
"What is your relation to him?"
"I'm his fiancé,"
Sam raises an eyebrow. "You're...Y/n...?"
"Has he mentioned me before...?" Y/n asks skeptically.
"Once..." The warden replies.
He remembered that clearly. Shortly after being brought to the prison, Dream had asked specifically not to let a 'Y/n' in to visit him. However, Sam didn't care much about listening to what the green man had to say anyway, plus Y/n didn't seem overly suspicious at all.
"Where are you from?" Sam continues. Y/n tells him. He goes down the rest of the line of questions before handing her the contract. She seems to read it over carefully before signing it and hanging it back to him.
"Out of curiosity," He then adds. "When was the last time you had contact with the prisoner,"
Y/n thinks a moment before replying. "It must be two years now...I think..."
"Okay. You'll have to leave all of your items in a locker, you can have them back when you return from your visit,"
"Alright,"
Sam waits for her to put her things away, and Y/n returns within a few minutes. He can't help btu admit to himself that he was surprised by her difference in personality compared to Dream. Though on the other hand, it had been two years since Y/n had seen him, and Dream had changed a lot in that time.
Y/n seemed confident. Nothing in her demeanor suggested that she was intimidated by the obsidian walls of the prison. However, though hard to tell, she seemed to be worried as well.
"He's changed," Sam remarks as they make their way though the halls. "He's not the same as he was two years ago,"
"I thought so..." She mumbles. "When I found out that he was here, and what he had done, I couldn't believe it at first. But when I began to hear more stories from people that he had hurt, I couldn't deny it anymore..."
Y/n lets out a sad laugh before adding. "He wasn't always so horrible though. I remember the time when he really did care about others,"
"That Dream is gone,"
