Marinette read that text and laughed a little. Nothing happened to her kitty. He just turned out to be the perfect guy for her in all ways possible. But now she needed to come up with something.

-the next day at school-
Marinette and Adrien were more clear about what they were now but they still didn't want to make it official yet. They just wanted their relationship to be private for a little while.
"Who's excited for prom!" Miss Bustier announced. Everyone was so distracted by other things that they forgot they had a junior prom this year. It was basically the same as having a regular prom, just no one was leaving. Chatter filled the room about who was going to ask who and how they were going to do it.
"Class, quiet! I understand how exciting your prom will be but we have some presentations to get through right now. You can talk about that stuff later."
The class went silent even though they were all bursting with thoughts about their prom. It was super exciting so it was going to be hard to focus on the presentations upfront.
"That was amazing!" Miss Bustier sang after Marinette and Adrien finished their presentation about Ladybug and Chat Noir. "But how did you guys get so much information about them? I never knew about so many things you mentioned!"
"Wikipedia," Marinette said. She obviously couldn't give her actual source, the person standing beside her.
"Well great work nonetheless." Miss Bustier clapped for them which made most of the class start clapping too. No one was actually listening to the presentation but they clapped to make it look like they were. After the clapping died down, the bell rang immediately after. Marinette was one of the last people to leave and when she walked out, she already saw some promposals. Many of them were simple, just one person asking the other with no props. But how did some people make the signs so quick? Adrien, Alya, and Nino were waiting for her outside but suddenly someone tapped Marinette on the shoulder, slightly startling her. She thought it was Adrien but she knew that even though he was a superhero, he couldn't teleport from one side of the school to the other.
Marinette turned around and saw... Felix. He transferred a few weeks ago and from Marinette's perspective, she did not like him. He was Adrien's cousin and he freakishly looked like Adrien but his personality was the one thing making it obvious that they were too different people. Besides the slight differences, like Felix's hair being more messy and longer, they were basically twins. But what was he doing?
"Hi Marinette," trying to hide his nervousness.
"Oh hi Felix," she replied. Adrien heard them talking and started to approach them slowly but got stopped by one of the junior girls. She had one of those annoying flirty voices and he didn't know what she wanted. She was just twirling her hair and gazing into his eyes, not saying anything.
"Hi?" Adrien said, breaking the silence.
"Okay so me and the girls placed a bet about who you're going to ask to the prom! That annoying bitch Chloe wants you to ask her but I don't think you should! So anyways they give me fifty bucks if you do ask me or I give them twenty if you ask anyone but me. But it's not just us, everyone is wondering who you will be taking. Better tell us soon!" The girl said.
"Yeah sorry you're going to be losing quite a lot of money today." Adrien smirked and moved out of the way to go closer to see what his cousin was saying to Marinette.
"I know you don't know me that well but do you maybe want to go to the prom with me?" His voice was quivering only slightly and Marinette never heard him like that. Felix was the kind of guy who would always be loud and never shut up so it was surprising how he was acting right now.
But she didn't know what to say. She knew who she wanted to go with, obviously, but she didn't want to be rude to him. Marinette wasn't that type of person.
"Sorry man but she can't," a voice said from behind her. Both Marinette's and Felix's head shot backwards to see who said that. She knew the voice of course but just wanted to see what Adrien meant. Felix on the other hand knew that voice was the one that gave him a scorching headache.
"How can you decide that for her?" He was irritated that Adrien was ruining his "promposal."
"Because she's already going with me." More heads turned to see the scene of who Adrien Agreste was asking to prom.
Adrien moved closer to Marinette, and she turned her head to whisper into his ear. "Your Chat Noir is showing."
"You can't make that up for her. How are you so sure she's going to pick you?" Felix snarled.
"She's going to pick me because she's my girlfriend." The students around them let out a big gasp and Marinette was smiling from ear to ear. He's never called her his girlfriend before and it was so nice to hear.
"Yeah and sorry Felix but I'll always pick him." He was going to say something else but instead ran out of the school in embarrassment.
"Wait what the fuck is going on? They are a thing?" Nino was trying to talk to Alya but she did not appreciate him ruining the moment.
"Shut up, you're ruining my ship!" Alya yelled.
"Adrien you're going with Dupain-cheng?! Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!" Chloe yelled. She stomped down the school stairs but no one cared at all. They were too distracted by the sight of Marinette and Adrien holding hands.
"I know we didn't want to go public yet but it feels so good to let it out. Felix is 100% jealous right now. I mean, who wouldn't be? And I know how shitty that promposal was. I couldn't stand the thought of my cousin going with you though." Adrien whispered into Marinette's ear.
"I was just about to say the same thing," she started saying. "And that doesn't matter to me. As long as I'm going with you it will be amazing."
"You guys wanna go out and get something to eat?" Alya said, grabbing Nino by her hand.
"Sure, I'm starving." Marinette walked with Alya, and Nino walked with Adrien, leaving the crowd of people with their jaws on the ground behind.
"All the deets. Now."
