<><>Liam POV<><>

We waited. And Waited. And Waited. I was the only one who didn't leave the waiting room the whole time Willa was in surgery. Niall was the first to cave in. Him and his food cravings! Coco insisted on going down with him, after all, her appetite was as big as his. Next to leave was Harry. It was taco day in the cafeteria, and he wanted Niall's company. Sabrina left with him. Then, everybody was leaving. "Do you want us to bring you up some food?" asked Zayn.

"No. I'm OK," was all I could muster to say. Unlike Niall, food wouldn't calm my nerves. Anyways, Willa needed someone here when she was done. Well, everyone came back two hours ago, and we've been waiting for at least six. Until you've been through a waiting process like this, you will have now idea how long six hours can be. It feels like I have been waiting for the nurse, Willa, or anyone to come walking through that door longer than I waited for Christmas when I was a little lad.

Save You Tonight came on the radio in the waiting room. "Wow! Were getting popular, aren't we?" said Zayn. The boys started singing, but I couldn't. Worry had made me vocally enabled. Instead, I listened to the lyrics, thinking how mush I wanted to save Willa right now.

I, I wanna save you

Wanna save your heart tonight

He'll only break you

Leave you torn apart, oh

I can't be no superman,

But for you I'll be super human

I, I wanna save you, save you, save you tonight

Up, up and away

I'll take you with me

Up, up and away

I'll take you with me

I, I wanna save you

Wanna save your heart tonight

He'll only break you

Leave you torn apart, oh

I can't be no superman,

But for you I'll be super human

I, I wanna save you, save you, save you tonight

Finally, after seven eternities, a way to peppy nurse poked her head through the doors. "Anyone know Willa in here?" she smiled.

I raised my head, and swam out of my thoughts to the open world. "We are," I told her, hoping I would finally get to see her.

"Right this way!" she exclaimed. We followed her, and kept staring at us. "If you don't mind me asking, are you-"

Louis cut her off, "One Direction? Yes."

Her smile got even bigger, if that was even possible, and said, "Would you mind giving me an autograph? It's for my nieces," and held out a book which was supposed to be for prescriptions. I just signed my name as fast as possible without a message. I waited impatiently for the boys to sign, and she led us to a room at the end of the hall.

I stepped into a burst of warm air. Did I mention that hospitals are the coldest things in the world, even in the summer? Well, they are, and the sudden warmth went straight my numb hands, so I could actually feel them again, and sent a tingling shiver down my spine. What warmed my heart though, was seeing Willa, relaxing in bed, and drinking a Coke.  She smiled when she saw me, but fell back in bed when she reached for me and rubbed her head. "Hi guys!" she rasped. She was obviously in a lot of pain.

"Hello love!" I said. I was the happiest person on Earth. Willa's surgery was successful. Or was it? I shoved this thought to the back of my mind and tried to focus on the positive. We would cross that bridge when we got to it. It was amazing to see Willa, even in her blood-stained bandage. She was wearing a One Direction hospital gown.

She must have seen me staring at her gown, because she coughed, and tried to speak clearly while saying, "I insisted I wore it. I kept you close." I smiled an went to hug her. At least she remembered me. When I backed away, everyone went to her, and engulfed her in a hug.

In a second, the room was full of cheer and presents. There were flowers, Get Well Soon! cards and balloons, and smiles. Niall went up to her, and said, "I saved this for you," and held out a Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard.

She took a bite, and said in a coarse rasp, "Thanks Nialler! I can't believe the pain you must have gone through to keep this for me and not eat any of it." Even her rasp as amiable.

Niall blushed a deep crimson, and admitted, "It was."

The doctor came into the room, and said, "Well, Willa, Glad to see you're feeling better. You will need to stay here for the next two weeks."

I wasn't exactly as shocked as I was sad. I wouldn't get to make my signature Get Well Soon Ice-cream, or have Niall steal it, like he always does. But, that was nothing compared to having her for life.

"Can I stay here, Willa?" I asked.

"As long as you don't mind sleeping in a chair!" she said. Her voice was sounding clearer already.

I spent the night in the chair next to her bed. I comforted her when she needed it, gave her her antibiotics and other medications when she needed them, etc. I fell asleep to the sound of her heavy breathing, and the smile on her face.

<><>2 Weeks Later<><><

<><>Willa POV<><>

I had been in the hospital for what seemed like a lifetime. I had been poked by needles, scanned, and tested for two weeks straight. Everybody came to see me as often as possible, but today, everyone was here. It was the day I got to go home. I was smiling blissfully as my last tests and blood samples were taken.

It was finally time. I was read to go home. I gathered all of my things, and checked out. All of us mushed into the elevator, which was way over it's limit, along with all of the balloons, cards , and such. I smiled at Liam. I could tell we were thinking the same thing. Life was going back to normal. I hit the L button for lobby, and the doors started closing. As soon as the doors started closing, the doctor ran out of his office, yelling, "You can't go yet!! We found more cancer cells!!!"

Well, so much for normal.
