High school. Typical, the most cliché thing you could ever come across in a story, but sadly, that's where my cliché story starts. Everyone has a boyfriend or girlfriend, especially here. Then I'm just here in the back, alone, boyfriend-free and happy. Who needs boys when you have the internet, am I right?
But no matter how hard I tried, I could not stop myself from falling for this one particular boy.
And that boy's name is Nathaniel Kodak.
I have no friends except for Nathaniel's sisters, Hannah and Katie. Wait, there's Alyssa too. I always forget about her because we're not friends. The only reason we are acquainted is that Hannah and Katie are best friends with her. Hannah and Katie both naturally have this beautiful, thick, long red hair. They have gorgeous hazel eyes that shine all the time. Hannah is a little bit shorter than I am, standing at five feet two inches, or for everyone else who isn't American, she's about 158 centimeters tall. Katie, ironically, is a bit taller than I am; she's five feet four inches or 163 centimeters. While I was waiting for Hannah and Katie outside the school when Nathaniel walked up to me.
Nathaniel has somewhat short, jet black hair. It covers his forehead, and he sweeps it to the left. He has hazel eyes like his sisters, but they're more like a golden yellow hazel. Most girls fall for green or blue-eyed guys because they're "captivating." I say that same thing about Nathaniel's eyes because they're so deep and soulful. That sounds cheesy, but seriously, if you could see them, you would say the same! Nathaniel, unlike his sisters, is a freaking giant. He's about six feet tall or 183 centimeters, so he's a head taller than me. Yes, I know I'm very short!
"Hey, Jessica. How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while," he said as he sat next to me on the railing.
"I'm doing well. I saw the new cover you and your sisters posted yesterday. It was incredible, what was the name of the song again?"
"I Miss You by Blink one eighty-two." He smiled as the warning bell rang saying that class was starting soon, "Do you mind if I walk you to class?"
I slightly laughed, "Lead the way."
He hopped off the railing holding his hand out to help me down and started walking with me to my class.
When we arrived at my class, I started to walk into class but was stopped because Nathaniel had pulled me into a hug.
"You thought you could walk into class without giving me a hug? Rude."
I laughed but was muffled because of his sweatshirt. He smelled like vanilla mixed with cinnamon. I let go of him, but he refused to let go of me. I tickled his sides, and he squirmed away from me.
"That's not fair!" he whined.
"You're right, the fair is in August," I winked and walked into my class as the bell rang.
When I sat down next to Alyssa, she immediately started asking questions, per usual.
"What was that all about? Where are Hannah and Katie? Who was he? Do you know him? Have you kissed him? Is he your boyfriend? Have you had-" I slapped my hand over her mouth before she could finish. This girl is going to be the reason I die young.
"He is my friend. They just overslept, they're not dead. He's Hannah and Katie's older brother, dingus. No, I haven't kissed him, and no, he's not my boyfriend. Why would you even ask that? You know I'd rather watch the people I'm subscribed to on Youtube," I said taking my hand off her mouth.
"So he's single?" she said wiggling her eyebrows.
I shoved her, "Alyssa you already have a boyfriend. Are you going to cheat on Brad!?"
"Psh, what? No!" She said with a tone that works for fooling everyone but me. She's going to cheat on Brad. Good thing I got his number the other day.
"Uh huh, right. Totally, why would I even think that?!" Then Mr. Heart walked in, and the class got started. The lesson I'm stuck in for the next hour and a half? Oh, just my absolute favorite class! (Note extremely heavy sarcasm. You know the second language I speak fluently.) American History. Only the subject that I've been learning the same thing for my entire life. Unless you're a history nut, I'm pretty sure that it's everyone's least favorite class. Plus the teacher is the is the worst human being ever. He assigns entire projects over Christmas and Spring Breaks. No one is going to do the projects honestly, people go see their relatives and stuff over breaks. I would go on a rant about our English teacher, but oh boy that would take way too long.
