Matt and I ended up falling asleep on Katie's bed, and I woke up to the sun gently peeking through her curtains. I heard deep quiet breaths from behind me and felt an arm around my waist. I gently turned over and looked at Matt's peacefully sleeping face. He had an eyelash laying on his cheek, so I gently wiped it off as his eyes slowly cracked open and he took a deep breath.

"Good morning," he said in a raspy whisper. He brushed a piece of hair out of my face and booped my nose as he pulled his hand back.

"Good morning, how did you sleep?" I asked, brushing his hair out of his face and gently tracing shapes on his cheek.

"Fairly well," he smiled showing the train tracks on his teeth, "Did you sleep?"

"I did. Not only did I sleep, but I slept like I used to. Silently and soundly," I explained.

"I'm glad you slept," Matt pulled me closer to him and gently kissed my lips, "Are you hungry?"

"Kind of, but I just want to lay here with you for a little longer," I said and snuggled into his chest.

"Okay, we can do that," Matt slightly laughed and wrapped his arms tighter around me.

We layed there for only God knows how long just enjoying each other's body heat, and I was thriving on the feeling of physical touch by someone I fell in love with. Nothing could make this moment any better. Except for a puppy, only a puppy could make this better... Okay, probably not.

Eventually, Katie came into her room to get ready for work.

"Okay, you two, out," Katie smiled and pointed over her shoulder, "Time to face the world."

Matt and I groaned as we untangled from each other and rolled out of Katie's bed. I walked past Katie, and she gave me her sly smile when she knows what's up. I huge grin spread across my face as I rolled my eyes and walked out into the living room. Nathaniel was sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. I walked over and sat next to him.

"What did she do this time?" I asked assuming Alexa was making him feel this way.

"She was making snide comments about the girl on TV, she wasn't pretty, and Alexa was comparing you to her. I've had enough of it, so I cut it off with her. She has been doing that since we first got together, I thought she would take a hint when I stood up for you but she never did. I don't feel anything, not hurt, not pain, not freedom, literally nothing," Nathaniel lifted his head out of his hand to look at me, "How do you do it?"

"Do what?"

"Brush her off. I don't know how you do it, how you don't let her nasty comments get inside your head," Nathaniel sighed and looked back at the ground.

"Comebacks."

"What?"

"Comebacks. Alexa says something, I counter it with a better comment. Then all I remember later is how I pulled an awesome comeback out of my butt," I said with a laugh to try to lighten the mood. Nathaniel chuckled, but it quickly died when he looked behind me.

"Her comebacks are extremely good," Matt said and wrapped his arms around my shoulders as he rested his chin on my head. I leaned my head on his arm and put my hands over his. Melody came upstairs with a soccer ball in her hands. When she saw me, she dropped the ball as she ran over to me and I pulled her onto my lap.

"Good morning princess," I said and hugged her tightly. Her arms wrapped themselves snuggly around my neck, "How are you?"

"Katie is really nice! She let me play with her toys!" Melody said with excitement in her eyes. When she noticed Matt behind me, she tilted her head slightly to the left, "Are you my mommy now?"

I was speechless, but thankfully Matt had the words I couldn't find, "Yep, she's your mommy and she's going to be the greatest mommy ever!"

Melody giggled with a huge excited grin on her face. She looked at Nathaniel and pointed at him, "Who's he?"

I looked at Nathaniel, and he looked me in the eye with a pleading look in his eyes, I couldn't tell if it was a pleading not to be included or a pleading to be her uncle or daddy. I turned back to Melody, "He's..."

"I'm Nathaniel," Nathaniel finished and scooted closer to Melody giving a gentle wave. She reached her arms out to him, and Nathaniel pulled Melody into his lap giving her a tight squeeze. I leaned back on the couch and closed my eyes.

"You didn't know how to introduce him, did you?" Matt whispered in my ear.

"Not at all," I chuckled.

Matt kissed my head and hoped over the back of the couch to sit next to me. I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, "Do you not get touched very often?"

I looked at him with a confused look on my face. When it clicked, his eyes widened, and he realized what he said, "I meant like, do you not get hugs and stuff like that very often, not what it sounded like! Wow, that was kind of awkward."

I laughed, "I knew what you meant, it just sounded weird. But no, I don't get hugs or anything very often. It's pretty rare when I can, it' not a big deal though."

"I'm just going to hug you all the time now," Matt stated and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him in the process, "I was going to do it anyway, but now I have an excuse."

I heard Melody squeal and run past me with Nathaniel behind her. She circled the couch and jumped up onto my lap, giggling the whole time.

"Hmm, I wonder where little Miss Melody went..." Nathaniel playfully said and looked in the kitchen. He came over to the couch and leaned over her, "There she is!" He picked her up off the couch and tickled her.

For once, life is finally going right.
