Chapter 18

"Why is somebody attacking us now? They have had the last three months of complete calmness to strike." questioned Emma.

"I don't know, but I intend to find out who is doing this and why." said Regina with a determined look in her face.

Then she walked out of the diner and back to her house to try and figure out what was going to happen with the new curse. Killian grabbed Emma's hand and she, Henry, and Killian walked home together.

Everyone has planned to sleep at home tonight and then meet at Granny's as soon as they woke up.

Henry seemed kind of nervous about the curse so Killian and Emma went totally to him.

"Henry? You okay?" asked Emma.

"Yeah I guess so." said Henry.

"What's bothering you lad?"

"I just don't want to loose either of you guys or my mom."

"You won't loose us lad." said Killian trying to comfort him.

Killian walked over to sit next to Henry followed by Emma. They hugged him and Emma whispered "Nobody can tear this family apart."

She walked downstairs to go get ready for her dinner tonight but Killian stayed with Henry. They say there for a while and Henry was just sitting there and Killian had his arms around him.

A couple minutes later, Emma called Killian down to the kitchen so she could talk to him. He patted Henry on the back and then walked downstairs.

Emma walked over to him and hugged him. "I'm scared." she whispered.

"It's okay love. I won't let anything happen to you."

"We need to get Henry to Regina's. it's her night to take him." said Emma.

"I'll go get him." replied Killian.

Emma smiled at him. She had dreamed of having a family for so long and now she finally had one. Killian was so good with Henry and they had such a special bond.

When Killian and Henry came back down with Henry's overnight bag packed. They walked Henry to Regina's house. Regina came out looking defeated.

"I still haven't found anything." she said.

"It's okay, Regina. You will!" encouraged Emma.

"The curse will consume the town tomorrow! I don't have much time."

"It's okay!"

"Cmon mom! I'm hungry!" whined Henry.

"Okay I'm coming." she replied. Then she waved goodbye to Emma and Killian and shut the door.

Emma and Killian walked away and towards their house. Emma had no idea where they were going but she just followed Killian. He took her to the beach where there was a blanket, a picnic basket, and some candles to light it up a little bit. Emma gasped. She was so touched that Killian would do all of this for her. He always found a way to treat her like a princess. Maybe letting her walls down wasn't such a bad thing after all. He walked her over to the blanket and they sat down to eat. He had gotten some food from Granny's (he couldn't cook because of the whole one hand thing). But Emma wasn't complaining. The closest thing to romantic her old boyfriend did was break into an amusement park to sit on the swings and drink coffee together.

At the end they were just laying there looking at the stars. Neither of them thought about what was going to come tomorrow.

All of a sudden Killian sat up and pointed in the distance.

"Do you see that Emma?" He asked.

Emma sat up to look for it, but couldn't find whatever he was looking at. She started to turn around to Killian and said "I don't see-". She stopped talking mid-sentence and gasped while putting her hands over her mouth.

There was Killian down on one knee with a small box in his hand. He opened it to reveal a ring.

"Emma Swan, you make me the happiest person in the world. I would go to the end of time for you. You mean everything to me and I can't imagine my life without you and I don't want to. You and Henry are my family and nothing will ever change that. I love you. Will you marry me?"

Emma nodded her head at a loss for words. She just smiled as he slid the ring into her finger. She looked at the ring. It was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.

She got up and kissed him. She loved him and nobody will ever break them apart. They sat back down and she was leaning on him looking up at the stars.
