He sighed before opening his mouth to take the bite, leaning towards Cyndelle. She now could clearly looked at the mark that Jeanne left on him.

But right before Vanitas took the treat, Jeanne grabbed him and went towards the window, surprising everyone but even more so Cyndelle and Vanitas.

"Let me borrow this man for a bit !" Jeanne said towards Luca before leaving.

Cyndelle stared at the window, confused before putting her fork back for the umpteenth time to dash after the two. "I'll look after them !" She called over to the others vampires, seconds before Noé followed, leaving only Dominique and Luca at the table.

Cyndelle managed to find Jeanne and Vanitas standing in an alley and hid herself from them.

'I know it is wrong to eavesdrop... But I'm curious about what they're gonna talk about...' She thought shamefully hiding herself with her cloak, sitting on the ground.

"Why... ...did you lie like that ?" She heard Jeanne's voice.

"Would you rather I told them the truth ?" Vanitas answered with another question while he was adjusting his clothes back on him. "From the looks of it, you didn't seem to want Luca to know that you'd been assailed by the impulse to drink blood... ...so I threw him off the scent." He explained.

"...Jeanne, I asked you once before.
Are you a curse-bearer ?" Jeanne kept quiet, not answering his question as she put a hand to her neck.

Cyndelle turned her head towards their voices, even more curious than before. 'Now this is intriguing...'

"You don't intend to talk about it, hm ?" Vanitas further interrogated her.

"That doesn't happen to me all the time. As long as I take medicine, I can control the impulse. However, that day... The medicine's effects wore off quickly, and..." Jeanne trailed off.

"Hm. Medicine like that exists ? That's very interesting." 'Better note that...' Cyndelle thought at the same time Vanitas talked about the medicine. She opened her book slowly so as to not make a sound and write the information she just acquired.

"Human. Never speak of this to anyone." Jeanne demanded of Vanitas.

'Oops... Sorry Jeanne...' Cyndelle grimaced, a bead of sweat rolling down her cheek.

"...No. What I meant to say is ---
Please. Please don't speak of it !" She implored the human, closing her eyes with an expression that showed her turmoil.

'My deepest apologies Jeanne for hearing your secret that trouble you so much... If there is something I can do one day to apologize for that I'll do it...' Cyndelle apologized in her mind, her hands clasped in front of her, feeling guilty towards the woman.

Vanitas smiled upon seeing Jeanne's expression before he bursted out laughing, ruffling her hair, to the confusion of the woman and the one listening to them.

"Have no fear, Jeanne. Spilling the secrets of the woman I love isn't my style." He told her, grabbing her face.

'Should I leave now...?" Cyndelle wondered with a blank face.

"I do have two conditions, however." Vanitas grinned at Jeanne whose face blanked.

Cyndelle mentally sighed hearing that. 'How come I am not even surprised...'

"Condi... ...tions ?" Jeanne repeated, fearing the worst.

"That's right. I won't mention your secret ro anyone. In return...
...You must not drink blood henceforth from anyone but me." He told her, surprising the two girls.
