We finally arrived in front of the Galerie Valentine after some time.

"...Why are you so tired, Vanitas ?" Noé asked, looking at him as I sweatdropped at his words.

"Because somebody kept dissapearing the moment I took my eyes off him ! What are you, a child !?" He wondered, obviously angry.

I went beside him and bowed my head. "Sorry, I thought I could kept him but in the end... I got dragged along without my consent.." I ended, sheepishly scratching my cheek.

I heard Vanitas growl before we entered the Galerie.

"The vampire who had us released is here ?" Noé asked, looking around.

"That's right." Vanitas confirmed. "After the old war... ...vampires were forbidden to drink human blood, and dissapeared beyond the barrier." Vanitas explained. "Even so, many vampires still live in the human world. There is one appointed by the Queen... ...to keep a watchful eye on vampire activities here in Paris, and to preserve the balance between the human and vampire worlds." He kept telling. "That's this man--- Lord of the other world... ...Count Parks Orlok." He said opening the door.

Suddenly two hands with long and sharp nails were threatening Vanitas, he seemed shocked on the moment. "Don't move !" Two servants stated.

Vanitas looked down on them. "... That's quite the welcome. You summoned us, you know."

"Silence." The black haired maid ordered. "Anyone too ill-mannered to knock might as well be an intruder."

"That door was locked." The butler stated.

"Locked ? Ah... It was a simple technique. I unlocked it." Vanitas said letting go of the doorknob.

"...I see." The man sitting at the desk, Count Parks Orlok said before looking at us. He was a bald man with a large scar covering his face. "So you're the human who's passing himself off as "Vanitas." I've heard much about this "human who calls himself a vampire doctor." They tell me you actively seek out and make contact with curse-bearing vampires."

I turned around when I heard a "Mroooowr" to see Murr, Noé immediately got happy and approached his cat who scratched him to my surprise.

"...Here are you things." The butler said, giving Noé his suitcase, Vanitas was looking inside his bag as I was glancing all around the room.

'Where is it ? Why didn't I get it back ?' I wondered.

"...Somethings seems to be missing." Vanitas commented.

The Count stayed silent.

"Haha ! Count ! Let's stop beating around the bush, shall we ?" Vanitas told him. "The culprit behind the serial murders hasn't been caught yet, have they ? You can't really have time to waste on me." He said before sitting down on the couch like he owned the place. "...I'll be blunt. Return the Book of Vanitas and Amelia Ruth to me." He demanded.

"I want to get my belongings too." I stated firmly, looking the Count in the eyes.

"I still have questions to ask her. I'll thank you not to take liberties with my former patient." Vanitas required as I stood next to him, seeing Noé shaking in my peripheral vision.

"Huh..? Vanitas... ...Mlle. Amelia is all right... isn't she ? I thought... she'd already been set free, like us..."

"...There's no need to worry." The Count spoke. "It has been decided that we will take responsability and dispose of that vampire."

I unconsciously clenched my fists at his words.

"We cannot allow curse-bearers to live. Once the Bourreau arrives, the formalities will---"
