AGAINST ALL ODDS
I always knew that one day you'd realize.
Your brown almond eyes graced my gaze one too many times.
I saw right through you, the real you.
You never had to say it, you knew that I knew.
You had been fighting your demons for quite a while.
So it was just a matter of time.
Before you'd know about mine.
These kind of thoughts are hard to shake.
But these type of bonds are tough to break.
Together we'd be 'till the end of time.
That's what you promised me after that night.
And though times were hard, no doubt in my mind.
That you and I, together we'd fight.
And we'd conquer.
And with all our might, we'd garner that applause.
That attention we yearned for and we'd cry out loud.
Because we might have won.
But still, it was just us.
Against all odds.
