I hate you, I said
and I meant it all.
For I was so certain
that you were my fall.

and your smile came to mind.
to everyone sweet,
to everyone kind.
I hate you, I said
because it wasn't to me.
That smile was reserved
for those you wanted to see.
I hate you, I said
and your wit wandered in.
In need of the truth
like it'd always been.
I hate you, I said
because that's what you got.
You'd always been right,
from the very first start.
I hate you, I said
though none of it true
If there's one person I don't hate,
I swear that it's you.
I hate you, I said
A blatant lie.
Because all that I wanted,
was for you to be mine.
