Part One - Chapter Seventeen: More Problems

Ryan silently led Adrian and Fernando through the underworld, it wasn’t something that any of them wanted to do but they didn’t have a choice; they needed to get Tempus to correct what had happened before it was too late.

Ryan glanced at Fernando concerned that if something was to happen to Nicola what the Spaniard may do; he couldn’t ignore how dangerous this situation was and the Elders had warned him that something might happen.

“Why do we have to bargain with him?” Fernando murmured recalling what Nicola had told him about the Source of All Evil, he didn’t want anything to do with the high level demon that they had to speak with.

Ryan sighed and looked back at Fernando, he agreed but there was only one way to get to Tempus and that was through the Source; they had to be quick since wasting time wasn’t going to help anyone right now.

“He’s the only who can command Tempus… to ask him to reverse time,” Ryan explained wondering why the demon had so much control, it was un-nerving and he hated to think just what the Source had planned.

Lydia had gone down a dark path and there would be consequences for what she had done, the Elders were furious that she had caused all of this trouble and there were talks of having her and the others stripped of their magic.

Ryan waited for a moment before they were greeted by a demon, he wanted to get out as quickly as possible since the place gave him the creeps; they were lead into the chamber where the Source was waiting for them.

The underworld was not a place that whitelighters were welcome and Ryan couldn’t sense what was happening with the others while they were there; he didn’t know what could go wrong while they were down there with no way to reach the others.

“I never thought I would see the day… a whitelighter, a witch and a human; what can I do for you?” the Source chuckled in a low raspy voice, his face covered by his hood while he stared at the three men; he should have known they’d come to him for help.

Ryan shifted nervously, he really didn’t want to be here but there were no other options and they needed help; he just hoped that the Source wouldn’t turn them away.

Fernando stared at the hooded figure, the hair on the back of his neck stood on end and his stomach turned; it made him want to throw up and he guessed that’s what happened when you saw the man that caused all the evil in the world.

“We need your help to get Tempus to reverse time so that Lydia will not lead to magic being revealed,” Ryan explained trying to sound more confident than he felt, he couldn’t believe that he was again clearing up Lydia’s mess.

Ryan wondered what had gotten into the brunette and why her new whitelighter hadn’t stopped her; he couldn’t remember the last time that he had saw Lyra since she had been appointed at the other coven’s whitelighter and it made him concerned.

The Source stared at them from under his cloaked hood, he pursed his lips while he looked over the three men; he could sense that there was something about the human and it made him wonder.

“If I have heard correctly Nicola and Amber were the ones to reveal magic…” the Source hissed making Ryan and Adrian flinch, they knew that technically it was their fault but Lydia had caused the trouble that had led to them being revealed.

Lydia was the one that had hired the demon and now she could hide away watching the drama unfold without a worry in the world.

Nicola looked at Amber as they pushed some furniture in front of the back door to stop people breaking in; she hoped that they would be able to hold out until the men came back with news.
