Tarazi was waiting for them outside, suited, legs apart, arms crossed as Ashley arrived back with the Queen, four days later. Ashley turned towards Adela.
"Can you take my dress and send it to me later? I'll deal with Tarazi." His stance wasn't a good one. She clasped Adela's hand. "Thank you. I had so much fun. Never been to Paris before or London. It was amazing."
Without thought she hugged her and then left the car as it stopped, running towards Tarazi, all a glow.
His arms fell away and his body relaxed, taking her into his arms, crushing her against him, burying his face into her hair, breathing her in. "Four days Ashley," he bemoaned, as in pain.
"Sorry, beloved. It took longer than we thought to get fitted, changes made." Her arms went around his neck, holding him. "The dress is to die for. I also want to make you proud of me, approved by your mum." His body shook.
Startled, she pulled back, though relaxed, as she heard laughter.
"You are priceless." Taking her face into his hands, planting a kiss on her lips. "Mum? Mother will be far from pleased."
She blinked at him. "Really? Funny, it didn't seem to bother her." Stunned, he stared at her as if dumbstruck, only to bring giggles. "As if I would." Shaking his head, he gathered back against him.
"Never again, promise me."
"I didn't know I was leaving the country."
"I know," he sighed. "My mother."
"And I rang you every night," she pointed out.
"Not the same Ashley." Reaching for her hand, and lifted it towards his lips, pausing. "Did my mother see these?" Because she was still wearing the rings on her left hand, dropping her gaze and smiled.
"Yes, she was pleased I'm wearing her mother's ring and loved the other."
He ran his finger over them. "Did you tell her?"
"I said you gave it to me from you, not the whole romantic details." Ashley took hold of his hand and brought it up to kiss. "Those are our moments, Tarazi, not to be shared. I missed you also, baby."
"Baby?" he dared.
Her mouth pursed. "It's an Australian thing. Get over it. You are my baby."
"What do you call our babies when they come?"
"By their names. Tarazi it is an affectionate thing, like darling, sweetheart."
"Habibti," he whispered, placing his lips against hers. "Beloved, let's take this inside," his arm went around her waist as the other fell away and guided her away.
"As long as you say nothing to your mother. She only wanted to make sure our day was special. I gather the balcony thingy is rather special."
"For the people. They will gather outside, the gates opened so they can see their new princess."
Leaning up against him, she sighed. "I think you will find it more to with the prince."
Glancing down, he eyeballed her. "And?"
"And nothing. I don't blame them. He is rather gorgeous." Colour flooded his cheeks.
Once inside, Yasser joined them. "Mistress, your package had been delivered." Tarazi glanced at her.
"Women's business."
"You're not moving into the other suite as yet, only after the announcement."
"Between your mother and me, okay?"
