My head is pounding, and falling asleep on the couch wasn't the best option. My legs are tangled with Carlson's, whom is currently sleeping on Stefano's chest. I yawn and roll over, only to bump into another person.

Alessandro.

His eyes are closed, his features relaxed. His lips are slightly parted, and small breaths cloud in front of me. He doesn't look as terrible when he's asleep, probably cause his mouth is shut.

I laugh softly and climb out of the bed, reaching for one the phones near me.

8:12 am.

I thought it would be later, but it's enough time for me to get ready and set the plan into motion. It would take me at least 3 to 4 hours to set the teams around while Alessandro and Sofia set the cameras and Stefano checks up on the new mafia making sure they won't interfere.

I grab my own phone and head towards my room, where I take a shower, burhs my teeth and change into a pair of shorts and a shirt. I leave my hair down, letting it airdry, and head towards Sofia's room, knocking gently on her door.

I open it slightly and look into the room, a small smile tugging at my lips when I see her and Lorenzo cuddling. Scratches bear her skin, and I softly close the door, leaving the questions when she wakes up, or don't even ask at all. Whatever happened Lorenzo helped her trough it, and I had a feeling that I may be no longer needed.

My heart aches at this, because it's been just us two for more than a decade, but I'm happy that she found someone that can bear her secrets and past, bear her. I'm truly happy for her that she finally moved on, and in such situations she has now multiple people to turn to. I don't expect her to forget me, I know she would still be here for me, but the weight of the incident might finally lift from her shoulders, along with the guilt.

I walk towards the kitchens and I'm met with the maids Alessandro owns, which usually cook. They hand me a plate with some stacked pancakes, along with some syrup and water.

"Thank you," I smile at her and she nods, turning back to the kitchens.

I take a seat on the stool at the table, and two strong hands rest on my shoulders, digging their fingers into my bones. When their thumb preform circular motions, my body relaxes and I sigh, looking up at Alessandro.

"Morning," he whispers, brushing a strand of my hair back.

"Morning. Want some?" I point towards my pancakes and he grabs my fork, cutting a few pieces and eating them. "Or just take them," I roll my eyes, and he chuckles softly behind me.

"Can you help me later with the plans?"

"About that, you should help Sofia and I will handle your men. Sofia isn't really feeling the best, and I think she would appreciate a head start."

Alessandro nods and walks to my side, taking a seat on the chair next to mine. "I can get a few guys to set them up and fix them so we have no blind spots. I will send Carlson at the club to make sure things run smoothly."

I nod, refraining myself from speaking. Memories from last night plop into my mind, the smoke, his lips millimetres away from me, the drinking and the fun we had. A warm pleasant feeling travels around my body when I think of it, and I brush it all away, taking a bite from my pancake.

"Diana, last night I was supposed to give you this," he rubs the back of his neck and I swallow, urging him to continue. "It's...a gift. A thank you gift for all the things you have done for me, and my mafia."
