By the time mom came back home, it was already 6:30 pm.

Dad, Falynn, Faine, and I were in the living room waiting for him to come back.

We shot up when he came in through the front door.

"Hey." Dad hugged him.

He sighed and melted into his arms.

We stood there silently letting them have their moment since mom is obviously tired.

Mom looked at us after a few minutes of silence.

We smiled.

He smiled back.

"Have you guys eaten?" He straightened up.

"Yup. We made some food for you as well." I said.

"I'm not really hungry. I'll eat a bit later." He sighed.

"Let's get some rest for now. We can talk later." Dad spoke up.

We nodded in agreement.

Dad lifted mom bridal style and headed upstairs.

We followed them close behind but separated as we reached our respective rooms.

I slumped onto the bed face first after locking the door behind me.

That was a hectic day...

And it's not the end... We still haven't found the boss... Arrax muttered.

I sighed and nodded.

I rolled onto my side and stared out the sliding doors.

The sky was clear and stars were starting to appear.

I was pulled out of my stupor when my phone rang.

I took it from the nightstand and checked the caller ID.

I immediately picked it up when I saw that it was Zayden.

"Hey."

"Hey. I heard there was a lot of ruckus at your place today." He replied.

I chuckled. "That's way too big of an understatement."

"Are you ok?" I could tell he was worried.

I sighed. "Yeah. No one got hurt thanks to mom."

"I don't mean it that way. You sound very tired." He said.

"I am tired. It was really hectic and we saw things we never saw before. And now everyone is on full guard because we still have no idea what their real plan is." I groaned.

"That sounds really tough... I hope they find out soon..." He mumbled.

"I hope so too..." I rolled onto my back again and stared at the ceiling.

"Did you get a text from school saying that we won't have any classes for the next 3 weeks?" He asked.

I blinked.

I took my phone away from my ear and checked my notifications.

There was a text from school saying classes had been canceled for the next 3 weeks.

"Yeah. Mom probably did it just to be on the safe side." I put my phone on my ear again.

"Yeah... You should get some rest. I'll talk to you tomorrow." He said.

I hummed. "Goodnight Zayden."

"Goodnight. Take care of yourself ok?"

"Yeah. You too." I replied before hanging up.
