Shagaru Magala
The Heaven's Wheel
Nickname: Shagaru
Species: Elder Dragon
Monster Size: 52- 72 feet
Monsters in relation: Gore Magala, Chaotic Gore Magala
Generation 4 Monster
In overall physical structure, Shagaru Magala very closely resembles its juvenile form, Gore Magala. However, it has now reached adulthood and shed its previously black skin. Its body is now covered in gleaming golden scales, and it has a permanent set of horns. Its horns, along with its claws and other spikes and protrusions, have changed from a dull red/purple to brown. Its eyes have also fully developed- they are revealed to be an orange-gold color. Shagaru's once torn and ragged-looking wings are now scaly, gleaming sheets of skin that, when both are expanded, somewhat resemble a star.
Shagaru Magala's abilities have enhanced greatly from its juvenile form. They are more agile, more ferocious, and much stronger than Gore. It fights in a highly similar manner to an enraged or frenzied Gore Magala, although it does possess some attacks and maneuvers of its own. Shagaru's virus breath attack is stronger- it has a larger explosion range which will deal more damage. Even the once harmless pools of virus mist will explode after a short while.
When angered, Shagaru Magala will fly up and hover in the sky, roaring loudly and sending out a flash of purple light. It will then assault threats from the air for a time before returning to the ground.
Shagaru Magala is highly aggressive and attacks hunters on sight. However, despite this aggression, it is shown to be calm and calculating when faced with a new enemy. When first encountered in the Monster Hunter game, it calmly, quietly surveys its opponent before unleashing its attacks. Its brutal, destructive nature is hidden and often a surprise due to its almost divine appearance.
While Gore Magalas tend to roam far and wide, they always return to Heaven't Mount to molt and enter adulthood- thus, Shagaru is found exclusively in this area.
