Odd Guardian (Nazo x Reader)

A Dream, A Vision, And An Apprentice

(Knuckles P.O.V.)

I've had the same recurring dream for about a week now. In it I see a (H/C) (C/T) clad in (F/C) and (S/C) clothing. She's defending the Master Emerald from a bluish-white light. As this dream recurs, the light she's defending against becomes more clear to me. It's Nazo and now I'm certain that he's alive. After all the trouble he put us through the first time, I'm not about to let this pass. I'm certain that Tikal is the one giving me these dreams, which means they're not dreams at all. They're visions. Visions of something yet to come. Fortunately, I found the (C/T) from my dream. She was working at a coffee shop in Station Square. Her job was to sort books in the book shop section of the shop. She was a little clumsy and even clumsier when I asked her to be my apprentice. "R-Really? You want me to become a guardian for the Master Emerald?" was all she said before she suddenly fumbled and bumped the bookshelves, turning them into dominos. I briefly consider changing my mind but Tikal is never wrong about these things so I just have to trust in the visions she gave me. But why do I feel like I recruited the wrong person?

(Reader's P.O.V.)

Guardian training with Knuckles the Echidna. Who would've thought it? I honestly thought he'd ask my cousin to do it. She's the one with the superpowers. Oh well... The plane ride with Tails was kinda scary but at the same time super cool. Watching as the marvel that is Angel Island get closer and closer, my excitement reaches a boiling point and I almost jump out of my seat. I have to remind myself that I'm still on a plane and that's a bad idea. When we land, however, I fall face first into the dirt, forgetting I still had a seatbelt on. "You okay, (Y/N)?" "I'm fine!" I laugh off my fall and brush the dirt off my face. Tails leads me towards the altar where both the Master Emerald and Knuckles waits. "Welcome to Angel Island, (Y/N)." Finally, I get to be a part of an adventure!
