I follow that magnetic pull as Nazo floats behind. I've been thinking... That name sounds kinda familiar. I think Knuckles mentioned it when he was teaching me stuff about the Master Emerald. I can't remember though. Maybe it wasn't important. I get grabbed and pulled aside before I run smack dab into a tree. "Do I seriously need to watch you this closely? Watch where you're going. Honestly..." Nazo grumbles and pushes on my shoulders a bit, causing me to stumble. Suddenly that magnetic pull seems to be upwards. Knowing how Nazo has been towards me thus far I'd say it's probably out of the question to ask him to check the top of the tree. "Let's set up camp here." "We just camped not that long ago. Are you suddenly that tired? We, and by we I mean you, have only been walking for an hour and a half and you're suddenly tired? Where did all the energy from this morning go?" "Nazo I just want to set up camp to rest a little. I don't have any magic levitating powers that let me be lazy about my movement. An hour and a half is a lot of walking and my feet hurt." I hear Nazo grumble and huff but he resigns himself to sitting on a tree stump. I get the feeling he doesn't like me much. I wait until he decides to nap before attempting to climb the tree. This will be fine, right?

Closing my eyes doesn't necessarily make me asleep. A while ago, when we approached the tree, I heard her voice in my head. How am I going to get up there? I don't know why I heard her voice in my head. This is the second time that's happened. The first being when I woke up. I peek open an eye to watch her struggle to climb the tree. I don't know why she didn't just ask me to do it. She's the one who asked for my help in the first place. A sense of pride? Or perhaps my current behavior? Whatever the case, I'm somewhat impressed with her progress up the tree. I turn away for only a moment and then I hear a snap, followed by a scream. How did she get so high up so fast?! I don't think before I fly up and catch her mid-air. She clings a little tightly but the shockwave in my system causes it not to register. "You idiot! What were you thinking?! Do you have any idea how high up that tree is?! You could've killed yourself!" I don't even know why I'm suddenly scolding her. I hear her sob and burry herself in my chest. I'm still just a stranger to her and yet... whatever I'll let it slide for now. I set her down and she hides herself in her tent for the remainder of the day. She was a bit ambitious to try and get whatever's up there on her own but if she plans on dragging me into her problem then at least lean on me a little. I fly up the tree and lo and behold, the infernal shard of the Master Emerald. I don't pick it up, instead, I kick it off the side so it sits at the base of the tree instead of the top. Her efforts to get it should at least be rewarded.

Well, that was a rocky start. My fear of heights just got slightly worse I think. It might be a full-blown phobia now. Nazo probably hates me more now. Plus I feel awkward. I kinda buried myself in his chest when he caught me. Heat of the moment I guess. I sigh and exit the tent. Nazo is staring up at the tree line, probably to make sure I don't try to climb up again. For some reason though, the magnetic pull isn't upwards anymore. It's towards the roots. Glimmering green the Master Emerald shard sits, as though waiting for me. One down, who knows how many to go.
