Odd Guardian (Nazo x Reader)

Not so much a hero as a villain

(???'s P.O.V.)

I'm pleasantly surprised that this one doesn't know who I am. I would've thought the guardian would've mentioned me. Speaking of, I don't see him anywhere. How long have I been gone? Days? Months? Likely it's been several years. The (C/T) girl seems to be the new guardian. Perhaps the old one is no longer around. She seems not too capable at her job if it was so easily stolen and broken. The thing is like an infant. She's incapable of defending herself and I almost feel guilt even glaring at her. I sigh, it's not like telling her my name will make much of a difference. "I am called Nazo and I'm leaving." "Wait!" she grabs my ankle and I have to refrain from kicking her off. Wait... Why refrain? She's doing something to me with those innocent (E/C) eyes. It's like a spell and I find myself unable to move. "Please... You have to help me get it back. Knuckles said if the Master Emerald breaks, then it's the duty of the guardian to gather the shards and put it back together. I summoned you so you have to help me. Please, Nazo." Oh for the love of... Could those eyes get any bigger? I'm going to regret this...

(Reader's P.O.V.)

Nazo stands there in silence before letting out a long sigh. "Fine." "R-Really?" I get so excited I somehow end up headbutting him again. "Yes really. Just stay thirty feet away from me." He groans, covering his face again. I pack up my camp clumsily and the two of us head out in search of the Master Emerald shards.

(Nazo's P.O.V.)

We camp out somewhere in Mystic Ruin. She said she sensed something pulling her towards this place. Like a magnet she said. She gave up on setting up her tent and settled for sleeping on top of it. It's not like I was helping any. I was mildly entertained with her struggle. Her positive attitude and the way she seems to bounce back from her mistakes both intrigues and annoys. Maybe that's why I said yes in the first place. She's a strange one. She kept insisting on holding my hand or clinging to my arm when we entered the jungle. What kind of person just throws themselves at a stranger? I just don't get it.
