Chapter 3 - Nothing is what it seems

All alone, Vegeta walked across the grass through the morning dew on his way to the palace's middle garden. Nappa was still sleeping it off and Raditz was already gone, he was always up early to train. Vegeta had to admit one thing, when it came to training he always had some sort off respect for the lower class Saiyan. Suddenly a white rabbit-like creature ran past his feet, behind the prince a dog ran all silently, the Saiyan just saw the creatures dive into the bushes.

Everything was calm in the morning, there was still a veil of fog as Vegeta looked at the middle garden in front of him. A large plain of grass and a few trees full of different fruits. On the open area stood a small slender figure, white hair in a braid and the same golden amusing eyes as last night greeted him. With a wide smile Vino smacked her knuckles together "welcome my prince, ready?" Vegeta had to admit, he had not expected to see her so cheerful "captain, ready when you are" the Saiyan said teasingly.

The two fighters walked around each other, silently staring at each other. At the same time they flew at each other, Vegeta wanted to strike out but Vino somersaulted over him. At the same time they hit each other with their upper arms. They took turns like a tango, striking out at each other. Vegeta blocked them easily, Vino managed to avoid them without effort. Vegeta yelled at one moment "are you going to keep jumping or are you just going to show off little bunny?" Vino laughed and lashed out, Vegeta grabbed her wrist and landed a fist in her stomach.

Vino begins to smile and instead of falling crookedly to the ground she grabbed Vegeta's wrist and did judo throw over her shoulder. However, Vegeta landed on his feet and swung her through the garden. Vino flew around a tree and at high speed she reappeared behind him and hit him with a one fist to his cheek. The two were fairly matched and Vegeta had to admit that it had been a while since he had this much fun at training. Now he understood how Nappa could lose so easily.

The fog slowly began to clear and several individuals came to watch as spectators. The famous captain and the infamous brute prince went hard against each other. At one point Vegeta grabbed Vino by her ankle and swung her in the direction of the spectators. Vino managed to dodge the watching Waino's with a quick move. Angry she walked back into the garden "hey watch out prince! There are spectators here". The prince seemed unimpressed and stood upright with his hands on his hips "then they should pay better attention".

With clenched fists, the captain walked up to the prince "seriously? social skills surely are not in your vocabulary?" Vegeta raised his chin slightly into the air, from the corner of his eye he looked at the pissed off young woman, her eyes were angry making them almost shine like gold pieces. With a smirk Vegeta said "oh poor captain, not as tough as she seems?" Angrily Vino lashed out at him "better not as tough as insensitive bully like you!"

The strong prince blocked the blow and knocked her arm away. But before he could strike out himself she was on the other side, hoisting him. Vegeta went to the ground hard and Vino jumped on top of him "gotcha, you are not that fast my prince". But Vegeta was too strong and grabbed her by the hips and pushed her to the ground beside him. Now it was Vegeta who was on top "you are fast yes, but strong not so much". He pinned her wrists to the ground and grinned. Suddenly a loud shout came from the crowd "captain it is inside the walls!"

Swiftly Vegeta stood up again and extended his hand to the young captain. She grabbed it and together the recently fighting duo looked at the soldier who arrived at their side almost out of breath. Vegeta shook with displeasure and just thought what a pathetic excuse for a soldier. Vino was slightly concerned "talk". The soldier in a red uniform straightened up "some soldiers were shot from a distance, I think it's him". Vegeta cast a curious glance at the captain who seemed even angrier than before.
