Chapter 8 – Escape

Vegeta stared at the map, something about the Queen and Zarbon's plan was not right. Zarbon almost flirtatiously told the queen that everything will go according to plan this time. Vegeta thought he would get nauseous on the spot. When the green man also pressed a kiss on the hand of the slightly older red dressed queen Vegeta turned around, he didn't want to see this.

The prince's attention was awakened again when he heard his name, Zarbon came to stand beside him. "Prince Vegeta, you get the plan?" The Saiyan crossed his arms and turned to Zarbon "your plan is to run into that forest and blast everything in sight? And the Queen agrees. I don't think it's a bad plan, but is it only rebels in that forest?" Vegeta felt in a dilemma, if he went along with this plan a certain captain would become furious. Although he didn't mind making her angry, furious is a whole other story.

"Of course, why would normal residents hide in the forest?" Zarbon and the queen laughed. Vegeta ran a finger over the map, then the door opened and the captain walked in. She made a short bow "the plans please, so I can inform the men". The two leaders glanced at each other, Vegeta then looked at the map. Still he was thinking something was wrong. Vino came to stand beside him and Vegeta just dropped a finger on the target the forest. Vino's face said enough that this was proving to be a bad plan.

With a clenched fist she looked up "my queen how can you approve this. You do know that our orphanage and many hunters living in that forest". For a moment Vegeta thought back to that orphanage, the little feisty orphan boy he had trained. Also the prince looked disapprovingly the to the queen "I like a good extermination like any other Saiyan, but this is not my assignment. Frieza ordered us to hunt rebels, residents were valuable for other purposes". The queen slumped in her chair sighing.

Then the queen sat up straight "Vino, honey what's your plan then. There are rebels in that forest, how do we get them out?" Vino got a victorious smile on her face, Vegeta knew she had thought about this she must had a plan already. In response, the Saiyan briefly let his tail sway back and forth before wrapping it around his waist again. Vino came to stand on the other side of the prince "we lure them out, the plan is already in motion, a letter was put in the hay bale this morning. A big meeting, but not with other rebels as they expect".

Zarbon looked offended, the queen nodded and so agreed to the plan. Vegeta brought his lips to the captains ear "good job cap". For a small moment Vino gently squeezed the prince's upper arm. Together they walked to the door "Captain Vino, Prince Vegeta wait a moment" Zarbon walked up to them with an arrogant expression. He continued "I will accompany you on this attack, the queen would like a report." The Saiyan prince said nothing and turned away and walked on, Vino made a short bow "fine Zarbon, see you later then". But Zarbon walked along, he planned to observe everything.

The green man followed the captain closely, Vegeta growled irritated. The lieutenant came to stand next to the Saiyan prince "what is going on here?". Vegeta looked sideways at Malbec and waved his hand for a moment "Zarbon is looking for errors by our Vino. With that, he can come back to the Queen in good light". The man with the wild mohawk shook his head " good luck, when our captain has a mission she goes complete into it. She doesn't make mistakes". As the lieutenant walked away Vegeta glanced at the captain ordering her men around.

About an hour later, they were in the middle of the battlefield. The plan had clearly worked, although there were fewer rebels than expected. Vegeta was in the middle of the fight, suddenly he heard "prince give me a hand". Vino flew at him and he grabbed her hand and turned her around and swung her away. She flew straight at a rebel. Behind Vegeta a rebel jumped up and Vegeta killed it by a ki shot to the stomach. Quietly he walked on, he enjoyed the screams and the panic among the rebels, he lived for this.
