Chapter 4 – A stroll in the woods

The prince of the Saiyans race stood at the edge of a training field behind the palace. Raditz and Nappa were sparring together; a certain captain had insisted that the Saiyans train away from the staff. They had been on planet Wain for over five days now and apart from a few rebels here and there, not a whole lot of exciting had happened. Vegeta crossed his arms, he had to admit he wasn't extremely bored. It was always fun when Vino a girl of only 1.55 meters floored the big Nappa. And the evenings in the tavern weren't dull either.

A certain fat feline poofed up next to the prince "so prince, are you enjoying yourself?" Vegeta snorted for a moment "not quite, I'd like a good battle for a change". The cat hovered around Vegeta to the other side "but you have nice fights don't you?". The prince rolled his eyes "that's training, it's not a real battle ". The feline poofed away and then suddenly it was hanging on his shoulder, Vegeta ignored the feline creature. "But prince, you two are a match for each other." Vegeta looked at the feline from the corner of his eye but didn't say anything.

The feline flew up and came up with a spin next to Vegeta "you guys are more alike than you think" the cat started laughing widely. Vegeta raised an eyebrow and the cat quietly flew away, still laughing. Vegeta thought hard "strange beast". A giggle suddenly came off next to him "captain" said Vegeta without looking over. "My prince, are your men ready?" Vegeta nodded yes "we are always ready captain".

Over three hours later and the Saiyans, along with the queen's private army, were standing among a number of dead rebels on the familiar battlefield. As soldiers closed the eyes of the dead fallen Waino's, the Saiyans walked off the battlefield. A familiar voice addressed the men unexpectedly "uh where are you going?" Surprised and irritated the men turned and looked at an almost emotionless face of Vino "We're done here captain" remarked Vegeta. The young woman crossed her arms "the dead don't disappear by themselves, please lend a hand". Vegeta snorted "fine, Raditz Nappa you throw the dead away please" Vegeta had a mean smirk on his face.

Angrily, the young captain came to stand close to the prince, their noses almost touching. Vegeta enjoyed pushing her buttons and making her angry. And by now he knew exactly how, she was so entertaining when she was angry. "Prince I expected a bit more respect from you." Vegeta made himself slightly bigger and took a small step forward "Captain, I am still a brutal Saiyan." With a growl and a shout, Vino turned and walked away annoyed. Vegeta started laughing loudly, the men behind him were laughing too. Vegeta's face turned serious "men help the young lady out will you?" Nappa and Raditz looked startled, and Nappa made a protest. But Vegeta cut him off, his command was absolute.

Vegeta had found a spot under a tree in the shade. With his legs crossed and his eyes closed, it seemed like he was asleep, however, he heard everything. Suddenly, with a lot of noise, a bulky warrior stood next to him "uh prince, the dead are on the wagons. Can we drink wine now?" Vegeta opened one eye and looked at Nappa "where's the other one?" Nappa turned around "he went to help pull the wagons, it was a bit slow according to him. He and that strange lieutenant are now gone" Vegeta stood up "ok a little drink then, come"

"Barmaiden, we want booze!" Nappa called out as he walked into the tavern. Vegeta walked silently behind him. Together they sat down on a bar stool on the short end of the bar. Vegeta always sat in the corner, there he could keep an eye on everything. "Vegeta you keep an eye on this person huh?" The barmaid Marsanne pushed forward 2 wines and looked at Vegeta. Vegeta said nothing and only nodded briefly yes. Nappa looked angry "patronizing" he muttered. Vegeta took a small sip "you know damn well you have no brakes with the wine". Nappa took a larger sip "nonsense".

Meanwhile, Raditz stood at the fence waiting for the lieutenant as he just pressed the last cart away. With crossed arms Raditz looked after the dark forest next to the building. A playful voice brought him out of his daydream "that's the forbidden forest, they say its haunted". Raditz looked with a raised eyebrow at the charming man next to him "nonsense, sounds like bullshit". Malbec dropped to the fence next to Raditz "there are still strange voices and lights coming from the forest". The long haired warrior began to laugh "you're a bunch of scary cats ".
