Just then a voice called out from the hall behind me.
"Princess! Princess Arcadia!"
A slim hunched girl around my age emerged from the crowd behind me.
She had a pair of piercing blue eye and long black hair pulled into a tight braid. In on hand she held a few books piled on each other and a set of what looked to be a female uniform losely nestled against her chest with the other.Judging by the items she held I deduced she must have been the one chosen to be my mentor.Naomi had informed me about this earlier. Each new student at the Academy was assigned a mentor with which they shared a dorm room with. The mentor served as a guide to help us with the transition from homeschooling to attending a boarding school.
What was her name again? I narrowed my eyes as I struggled to recall her name. Dayna.
Her steps were quick and caught the attention of the other students in the room. Some students greeted her and she nodded in their direction. I met her halfway and apologized for not meeting her at the Orientation. After which she showed me to our dorm that we would share.
I wasn't keen on sharing a room but"I know it's small compared to Axel Manor but there is a great number of students registering today.",She forced out as she closed the door.
She placed the books onto the table next to the door along with the set of clothes."You can call me Day if you prefer. All my friends do.", she said fidgeting with her coat.
"In truth, I do not have many friends. Not many like me here.", she said looking down.
Day it seemed, had a low self esteem. Was it because of the lack of her friends? She may not have had many but I had none. I worked over to the table she had put the books on and decided to strike up a conversation.
"Day it is.", I said smiling as I read the titles of each book.
"These are your textbooks. I picked them up on the way over. I figured you wouldn't want to wait in such a long line. I also fetched you a spare set of uniforms."
Thoughtful and kind. Two more traits of Day's I took note off.
"I heard you met with Prince Kale."
I picked up the books and walked over to my side of the room.
"I did, just before I met you actually.", I said nonchalantly as I read the titles of the books.
I looked at the bed and sat across from Day.
"What was he like? Is it true what people say about him?", she said quickly.
"He is kind and very charming. Why? What does everyone say about him?", I said curiously.
"That he is just dreamy and cute. Oh man what I wouldn't give to catch his attention. How is it you guys said you met again?", she said dreamy eyed.
Day sounded like she had a crush on the Prince. Infact it seemed by her words everyone did.
"I didn't.", I said after a few moments.
I wasn't sure how much I should discuss with Day. It was not because I distrusted her but simply because I did not know her all that well.
I glanced over at the door where she stood. She avoided eye contact with me as if my words had hurt her. I guess I may have come across abit blunt.
