I leaned against the bathroom stall door and placed the sole of my shoe behind me. Folding my arms, I watched Dayna fix her hair by one of basins lined against a huge mirror.
I let out a frustrated sigh. Naomi wouldn't be happy that I had intervened. The more I thought about it there was a silver lining. I smiled up at the ceiling. She did say punch those who didn't like me.
Dayna fumbled with the clips I handed on our way in as I though about how I was going to explain all of this to Naomi. When we entered the girls bathroom, Dayna asked if I was at all concerned about the repercussions that the incident in the hallway would cause.
I considered her words. Naomi and I had a bigger objective in mind but my actions would cause a few hiccups seeing as it would draw attention to me. I met Dayna's eyes to answer her a question but stopped. She didn't know about what I intended to do with Naomi's help. So why would there be ''repercussions' Was fighting banned at Silver and Grey. Ah hell, I hadn't read the handbook.
It wasn't my fault infact it was the red heads'. I was really growing to dislike her and I knew nothing about her. Flashes of her appeared in my head of her in the hallway. How she held the knife and charged at Day. Make no mistake, if I had not been there she would have done much more than just giving sweet Dayna a trim.
Still, maybe I could have waited it out. I did act in haste. Protecting Dayna from getting hurt was why I acted. Wasn't it?
What was it that the Prince said? Sometimes situations present themselves and we react the best way we know how to. Yes, I did react with the intention to keep her safe. I understood what he meant when he said them earlier but experiencing them made me think that my mum's actions may have been justified.
I knew I couldn't let Dayna get hurt especially on my account. It was amazing how my body sprung into action before I had even decided what I wanted to do. All I knew was Day needed help and I was more then happy to offer it.
I guess I was like my mum. Silently drawing comparisons between the boy who my mum protected from Naomi's story with Dayna.
"She won't let this go you know.", Day said knocking over her chapstick.
Dayna's words pulled me from my deep though.
I narrowed my eyes at her and pursed my lips before looking down at the chapstick.
Was she angry at me for saving her? Or unhappy about me standing up for her?
"Well, she should not have attacked you while you were still down.", I said contemplating which her words refered to.
I didn't doubt her words. The Red head was pissed of and her threats reinforced it. But what was Dayna so angry about?
Locking my hands behind my neck, I focused on the new addition the clips made to Day's head. She had done a good job. I couldn't tell where the Red head from early had chopped off her hair.
"I like what you've done with you're hair. I can't notice the trim that Red head gave you.", I said stepping forward and picking up her chapstick.
The least I could do was cheer her up. Maybe my actions came across as undermining as my mentor. I put myself in her shoes. If she stood up for me and I was a mentor I wouldn't be happy.
"Listen Day, I didn't mean you no disrespect. I just reacted.", I said before placing the chapstick on the counter.
"I'm not angry Arc. I'm embarrassed.", she said grabing the comb and chapstick from the counter.
I knew her to be a honest person but admitted the way she truly felt was hard. If the tables were turned I knew my pride would keep me from telling her the truth.
