Ch 4: The Hospital

Izuku woke up and opened his eyes to be greeted with a white ceiling and felt the sensation of a hard mattress against his back.

Izuku immediately recognized where he was as he was far too familiar with the place...

The hospital.

Izuku raised his upper torso up. He then placed his hand on his chest and felt the vibrations coming from there. His heart was beating without a problem and thought, 'I'm alive...!?'

As he got up the nurse saw him and said, "The patient's up call his family and the doctor!!" This shouldn't have been possible when he thought back to the moments before he lost his consciousness. A sword was falling on his head right before his eyes. Even if he got lucky and the sword missed, he was still surrounded by countless scary enemies. Those damn things were strong enough to give the assault team formed solely from the rank A no, rank S Heroes a genuinely hard time.

Izuku thought, 'But, I came out of that situation alive?' Was he dreaming things, then? Fortunately, there was a good way of confirming it for himself. Izuku pulled away the blanket covering him. If that situation had been real, then his leg would still be gone, and if he had been dreaming, then his leg would be...

The doctor ran at full speed and said, "I apologize if we took you by surprise."

Izuku said, "N-no problem is there anything wrong with me...?"

The doctor said, "No the chart says your fine... Your sister is about to come..."

The nurse walked beside the doctor and whispered, "Should we tell him... psst...pssst.?" Izuku was only able to pick a part of the conversation thanks to his mutated senses. The doctor said, "We should..."

The doctor walked up to him and said, "Do you know what day you were gone?"

Izuku said, "It was in the middle of June... on a Friday... Why?"

The doctor said, "I'm sorry to tell you but you were in a coma for 9 months."

Izuku said, "What!!!!! No wait the bills! The fees! My sister!"

Then the doctor said, "The Hero association payed for everything as you were the reason of people returning alive."

Izuku then sighed in relief and as he did that he heard someone yell in a hospital... It sounded like a girl, "ONNNIIIIIIIII CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNN."

As soon as Izuku heard that he knew who it was immediately and then the doctor and the nurse left and then a girl who had Inko's hair's and was skinny and was 4 inched shorter than Izuku entered the room.

Izuku said, "Heyyyy... Izumi... How are you?"

Izumi said, "Don't heyyyy me!! You could've died I'm gonna kill you myself now! W-what who-uld I have d-done if you died!!!" As she started to punch Izuku in the chest.

Izuku then hugged her and said, "I'm sorry. But look I learnt my lesson. How's mom?"

Izumi said, "I didn't forgive you yet... Mom's still the same..."

Izuku said, "Okay. Well I'm sorry okay. I'll make it up for you. Got it," Izumi nodded.

Izumi said, "Okay, Oni-Chan your lucky, next time I'm gonna go into a gate and bring you back and kill you myself if something happens."

Izuku started to nod very fast and Izumi said, "Byeeeee."

Izuku then waved and she left.

Izuku then saw two men and they were dressed in fancy clothes and they said, "Unfortunately, we are unable to wait any longer."

Izuku said, ""Who..are you? 

One of them with the close-cropped hair like a soldier and wearing a pair of sunglasses presented him with a business card.

Izuku received the business card and read what was written on it. 'Woo Cheol, the section chief of the Monitoring Division, the Japanese Hero's Association?' The Monitoring Division was the only department in the Hero's Association with many strong Heroes in their payroll. Well, since this department was tasked with managing the country's Heroes so, quite obviously, they would employ many high-class Heroes to facilitate that purpose.

Izuku said, "What does the Monitoring Division want from me?"

Cheol sat down on the chair beside Izuku's bed while his subordinate stood holding a briefcase said, "Well E-rank hero Izuku Midoriya we believe that you've undergone a reawakening. As he said that Izuku said, 'Was that floaty box it? Nah, I was probably my head, I did get hit pretty hard'

Then Cheol said, "By any chance, do you remember what happened before you blacked out?"

Izuku said, "Yes, I do."

So Izuku told them everything truthfully, minus the strange hallucinatory words he heard before he lost his consciousness. and Cheol asked, "And that's when you lost your consciousness... Is that all?"

Izuku said, "Yes. I open my eyes next, and I'm in a hospital."

Cheol said, "By the time....Everything was 'gone'. The only thing to be found within that open space was you, Midoriya is it fine if I call you that?" Izuku nodded.

 Cheol continued, "There was not one trace of the god statue nor the stone statues."

Izuku then looked at him with a disbelief and said, "What!"

Cheol then signaled his subordinate to open the briefcase and said, "It's the device to measure your magic energy." 

So the moment of truth as Izuku slowly put his hand on the device...

The god statue was said to have melted rank C Heroes with nothing but its eyes, according to the survivors. If one were able to kill such a creature even while unconscious, just how powerful one could possibly be?

Woo Cheol hurriedly took off his sunglasses and confirmed the numbers. Right away, a small earthquake rocked Cheol's eyes and said, "How can this be?!" He rechecked the numbers, but it remained the same Then he thought, 'How can....' How could a person holding a Hero license possess the magic energy value of only 10?! When considering the fact that the lowest average value for rank E – the bottom rank – was around 70 to 100, Izuku Midoriya was no different from a regular person.

Izuku's hands were soaked in the sweat of anticipation.

Seeing the suspicious reactions of the two Monitoring Division agents, the result must've been somewhat beyond their expectations.

Meanwhile, Cheol was comparing the existing data on Izuku with the new measurement and thought 'His first measurement returned the value of 12. Four years later, it's 10. It has decreased by 2, but it is within the margin of error.'

Just as Izuku was about to ask, Cheol bowed his head slightly and said, "Thank you for your cooperation. If you remember anything else, please give us a call anytime. By the way your phone was broken and the hero association bought you a new phone it will come in a few days." As Izuku nodded they left and Izuku thought, 'I guess trash is trash.' As they left the room
