After several days of Lucius tending to Ivy's needs she was completely healed. She felt much better and he was happy she was back to normal.

She awoke to the morning sun peering through the window and casting a glow across her face as she laid in bed. Stretching her arms above her head she let out a groan as she stretched out her tired body. Lucius's side of the bed was already empty but it was still warm so he hadn't been up for long.

She threw her legs over the side of the bed and pressed her bare feet to the coldness of the marble flooring making her retract her feet back up at the harsh contrast. It took her a moment to muster up the courage to get out of bed. She pulled on the silk robe that Lucius had gotten her the other day as a get well comfort gift. She peered into the mirror, she looked rough. Her hair a complete disaster, large bags under her eyes.

"Merlins beard" she mumbled waving her wand over herself to make her a little less harsh on the eyes. She heard Lucius's hearty laughter echoing off the barren walls of the manor, something she so rarely heard from him. A smile crept its way across her face.

She made her way out of the room and down the stairs. She could hear a few voices coming from the dining room, a familiar voice that she couldn't quite place. Then it dawned on her, she paused at the bottom of the stairs and shook her head. It couldn't be, there was no physical way it could be him.

Draco came down the stairs his eyes bleary from his sleep his hair a complete disaster. "Is that?" He said sleepily. She looked at him, "I.... I think so? But how? There's no physical way it could be. He died!" She stammered out. The pair exchanged looks of confusion not sure of what was going on.

They walked into the dining room and Ivy froze. She couldn't believe what she was seeing before her, Lucius was sitting at the table with Severus Snape, who had been known to have died in the battle of Hogwarts. Draco's face was completely baffled as well.

Lucius and Severus were sitting there having a cup of tea, like nothing had ever happened. Lucius looked up and saw Ivy and Draco standing in the door, "good morning you two" Lucius said. "I've got to be dreaming" Ivy said pinching her skin. "No no darling this is real. Severus is really here" he chuckled darkly.

"I.... I don't understand! How?" She stammered. "Come take a seat and we will explain everything" Lucius said motioning to the seat next to him. Ivy walked over and took the seat on his right, his hand finding her thigh and gently stroking over it with his thumb.

Ivy looked at her old potions professor, he looked the same as he did before. Maybe slightly a little more rough around the edges but it was definitely him. He nodded his head politely at her, "Miss Abbott, good to see you again." He mused. She nodded, "pardon me if I seem a little rude professor but, I don't understand! The last time I saw you they were pulling the white sheet over your body." She said in complete shock.

"Yes I do understand the confusion but it was necessary at the time." Severus said taking a sip of his tea. "But, it's been a year. Why this long? Why resurface now?" She asked confused. Lucius gave a throaty chuckle, "my dear little one let the man explain himself. All your questions will be answered" he said patting her knee reassuringly.

"Why would you fake your own death?" Draco asked. Severus looked over at Draco who looked just as confused as Ivy. "Much like the reason you didn't identify Potter properly the day he was brought to the manor by the group of snatchers under the effects of the stinging curse........ it was to save him" Severus said staring at Draco.
