Niccolo opened his eyes, and was greeted with a beautiful sight. Sasha was sleeping with a tiny smile painted on her face. Niccolo wished it was what he could see when he woke up every morning. He recalled what had happened yesterday, and how he had fallen asleep in a chair, next to her bed. He slowly got up, and got out of the chair, ready to head back to where he was staying, but found himself sitting on the edge of the hospital bed, stroking and running his hands through her hair. He was so mesmerised that he didn't even notice how Sasha's eyes were fully open.

"Niccolo, you stayed," Sasha breathed, unable to hold back her smile.

"Oh, of course I did. I'm sorry, did I wake you? My apologies."

"No, it's fine, I'm happy you're here," Sasha replied. A nurse quickly rushed over, and started mixing two liquids together, and pouring the concoction into a cup, and held it out for Sasha to drink. She gulped it down, and then stuck out her tongue because of the taste.

"You can probably go back to headquarters tomorrow morning, as long as you have people who will take proper care of you," The nurse explained. She stood up and then walked away.

"Well, I feel much better now. It's easier to breath and speak," Sasha happily said.

"That's great," Niccolo said, smiling. And yet, Sasha saw a crestfallen look in his eyes.

"Is something wrong?" She asked.

"No, no. It's just, Jean said that the girl who shot you, and her friend, were captured and taken hostage or something, and I was wondering if I should go and see them, or something."

"I'd like to see them too, I want to know who they are."

"Yeah, well, I should head back now. I'll come visit you in the afternoon, I'm very busy today," Niccolo said, getting up and giving her hand a squeeze before placing a chaste kiss on her lips, and waving to her, walking out of the tent.
He felt awful, he had lied to her. He wasn't actually busy today, and some other cooks were taking care of the food today. He just decided that he would go and find those kids, and the one who was responsible for what happened to Sasha.

Niccolo walked down the hallway, his pace getting faster as he continued. He was told that any new hostages were taken in for questioning, and then to a prison cell. For now, anyone could visit. He swung open the door, and stepped into a small room lit by a single torch on the wall. He faced the bars, and behind them, there were two children. One brown haired girl sat in the corner, and a blonde boy standing with his back to him.

"Who are you? What do you want?" The girl asked.

"Well, my name is Niccolo, I've just come to have a little chat with you, find out more about you." Both of them just gave him a glare, and then shuffled closer to the bars. He decided to start some kind of conversation, since they clearly weren't keen on talking.

"So, you know why you're here, right?" He asked, trying to get one of them to admit that they shot Sasha.

"Yeah, we're Marleyans, the devils hate Marleyans. I hate them too, y'know. They're all bad people who kill for fun and can turn into titans," The brown haired girl said. That made his blood boil, knowing that she didn't care about the girl's life she almost took.

"I'm from Marley too, I was sent here with some soldiers to discuss the rumbling. I can tell you that when I first came here, I thought that everyone was bad, too. But after a lot of time, I realised that they weren't, and that they're good people."

"I see, well, I'm Falco, and that's Gabi," The blond haired boy spoke up, and gave a small wave.

"Okay, Falco and Gabi, when you came here, did you shoot someone? A girl, who looks fairly similar to you, Gabi, but just older?" Niccolo asked, determined to get them to say they did it. He didn't know why, what would he do after? Would he just leave? He clenched his fists, and barred his teeth. Gabi stayed silent, but Falco spoke for her.

"Yeah, do you know her? Is she okay now?"

"She'll be okay, I hope," Niccolo said, getting up, ready to leave. But before he could, he raised his fist in the air, and punched the wall. Falco gasped, clearly frightened.

"I'm sorry. It's just, the girl you shot, she means a lot to me. And, to be honest, I don't know what I'd do to you both if you weren't behind bars right now." Niccolo quickly rushed out the door, and struggled to stay under control. '𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘚𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘢. 𝘚𝘩𝘦'𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘎𝘢𝘣𝘪, 𝘴𝘩𝘦'𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳.' Niccolo smiled, thinking of her. She was too good for this world, too forgiving and kind. He broke into a jog, determined to see her once again today.
