For the past few weeks, everything had been rather calm between Sasha and Niccolo's family. Sasha had gotten closer to them, and gained their trust. They seemed to no longer mind her ethnicity, or the fact that Niccolo was marrying her. They simply seemed to care that Niccolo was finally getting married.
Sasha walked down the wide street, following Niccolo. For a long period of time, he had owned a successful restaurant in Liberio before he was taken to Paradis. He still had the keys to it, and he was determined to see what he could make of it before they left. Skipping down the road, they finally came to a chain of small houses, and a diner was in the centre. Niccolo pulled out a key from his pocket, unlocking the large oak door and thrusting it open. They walked inside, and Niccolo smiled at Sasha before going to see what was left in the kitchen. Sasha couldn't help but admire the smooth stone floor, and the tall granite walls. Carved tables were organised into neat rows along the walls, and curtains draped from sunny windows, letting natural light seep into the room. It was an extremely nice place.
Niccolo came back into the room, carrying crates of wine and raw food. Sasha decided to give him a helping hand, and also carried some boxes to and from the kitchen. After a while, they had organised the entire restaurant, and it was ready for business.
"Well, we might not get many customers at first, but this is the only restaurant in this area. More people will come eventually. You can go and have a snack or watch me cook, if you like," Niccolo said, wrapping Sasha into a side hug.
"Yeah, but I'd like to help you out a bit. If that's okay?" Sasha asked, leaning into Niccolo's hug.
"Of course. I could use a helping hand." He took her to the kitchen, and explained a few rules and regulations, before showing her how to carry drinks and plates.

They were only one hour in, and there were already customers flooding through the doors. Niccolo had gotten into a swift pattern of cooking meals after meals, and Sasha was rather good at waitressing. It was going great, and before they knew it, the end of the day had come.
After the many satisfied customers had left the restaurant, Niccolo and Sasha sat on a table, panting at the hard work they had managed.
"You're pretty good at taking orders and stuff, Sasha. Y'know, I was worried you'd end up eating all the food before you gave it to anyone," Niccolo jokingly said.
"Me too, but I didn't!" Sasha commented. They sat for a minute, resting, before Niccolo perked up, and grabbed his coat from the door hanger.
"Hey, Sash, come with me. There's something I wanna show you." Niccolo opened the door, and Sasha quickly got up and followed him outside.
He led her down the sunlit alleyways, and across streets. Their shoes slapped against the concrete, but their happy laughs drowned out the sound. The tapping of their shoes against stone soon grew softer as they started running on thick green grass, and the gentle breeze grew stronger as they reached their destination. They were standing at the edge of a grassy cliff with the sea below it, and were staring out into a misty sunset.
"I wanted to show you, before we leave," Niccolo quietly said.
"Wow! It's so pretty!" Sasha exclaimed.
The brilliant reds and oranges were blended together in an array of vibrant tangy colours, and pinks outlined the puffy clouds and skyline of the sea. The sun slowly lowered, and the reflection in the water dimmed. For the first time, Sasha felt as if she wasn't looking at the deep blue ocean she loved, but the world further than it. For the first time, and perhaps the only time, Sasha felt as if she could take on whatever the world through at her. As long as Niccolo was by her side, she felt like she could do anything.
