Sasha slipped the bottle of medicine into her pocket, nodding to the medics. She had been prescribed a thick syrup, meant to help with her recent shortness of breath, violent coughing, and stomach pain. Although it was disappointing, and she wasn't supposed to walk long miles or do high-movement activities for a while, she wouldn't let it ruin her mood. Today, they were finally allowed a break for a full week, and like many others, Sasha was going to visit her family. Skipping along the path, wind blowing her mid-length hair in her face, she made her way to find Niccolo to ask an important question.

~

Sasha looked back and forth between an excited Falco and worried Gabi. "Don't worry, you'll like Kaya. She's really sweet, I'm sure you'll be great friends." Sasha was talking to the kids about her home, since she was taking them with her to stay with her family for as long as it was needed. Although no one had mentioned it yet, everyone knew that it would be a long time before any Marleyans could return to their home. Everyone assumed it would be only until after the rumbling had happened.

Sasha ruffled both of the kid's hair, and gave them a reassuring look before heading outside, gong to find Niccolo. He was supposed to be in the kitchen, doing whatever work he was meant to. After a debate, the commanders of the Military Police let the working Marleyans have a week off too, and since Niccolo didn't have anything planned, she wanted to ask him to come with her. She knew that he was going to be great with her sister, and the rest of the kids, and she wanted to see what her parents thought of him.

Sasha watched in awe as Niccolo stirred a pot of thick soup. She admired and loved everything about him. Her eyes trailed over each strand of his sandy coloured hair, and his hazel-green eyes. She took in every mark on his nose and jaw.

"Hey Niccolo, can I ask you something?" Sasha said, remembering why she was there.

"Sure."

"I'm going to my family's house for the week, and I was wondering if you'd like to come. Would you?"

Of course I'll come with you," Niccolo said, to a now very happy Sasha.

"That's lovely!" Sasha hugged Niccolo, and let out a relieved sigh. She had felt as if maybe he wouldn't want to meet her family, but maybe that wasn't the case.

"How long has it been since you've seen your family?" Niccolo asked.

"Maybe a little bit over a year. I've missed them a lot."

"I see. Well, I'm looking forward to seeing them."

"Me too," Sasha said, giving Niccolo a kiss on the cheek before running out of the door and going to find some flowers for Kaya.

The cart came to an abrupt stop in front of a large field, with a house and a few barns surrounding it on the other side of the grassy landscape. Sasha smiled, hopping off. She was home, finally. Niccolo, Gabi and Falco got off and stood next to her. Sasha took Niccolo's hand, and pulled him up the rocky path towards her home. In the distance, they saw a few kids waving to them, and then went back to planting seeds. It was only until a blond girl, stumbling out of the house. She was about to grab a rake, probably to clean up some leaves, but as she turned, she spotted the Sasha, and the other three people.

"Sasha!" The girl skidded down the path, quickly appearing in front of them. She jumped into her arms, giggling.

"Kaya! I've missed you so much!" Sasha ruffled her hair, and put her back on the ground.

"Sasha, who're these people?" Kaya pointed to the other three, and Sasha only chuckled, leading everyone inside.

"It's lovely to meet you Niccolo! I'm Sasha's mother," Mrs. Braus said to him.

"It's nice to meet you too, Mr and Mrs Braus," Niccolo replied, shaking their hands.

"Please call us Artur and Lisa, dear," Mr. Braus said.

After formal introductions, Kaya took Gabi and Falco outside, and Niccolo, Sasha, and Sasha's parents were left to conversation. They discussed simple things, like pasts, and old stories of Sasha as a child, and more.

Eventually, when they ran out of things to talk about, Lisa asked Sasha to go and check on the other children, which she did. Now, Niccolo was sat alone with the two adults.
