Chapter 7

I turned around roughly, stirring Jayda again, but not waking her. "Shinsou?!"

"Kaminari, what are you doing here? And with your sister?!" He looked at me and then Jayda and back at me. It was dark, thank God he couldn't see my face right now.

I turned away from him. Trying to buy time to come up with a believable lie. "Um...my parents are doing some renovations at home, and they didn't want us near it all, so we came here for a bit. Jayda ended up falling asleep, so I decided to stay here a little bit more before heading home." I said. I thought that was pretty believable.

"Okay, what kind of renovations?" He asked.

"Why all the questions?" I demanded as I snapped my head back towards him.

He held up his hands in a surrendering form. "Just curious, Kaminari. Cool it."

"Okay, well, I was also just curious. You seem to be very, what's the word...questioning about me lately. Do you have a crush on me?" I wiggled my eyebrows, even though I knew he couldn't see it in the dark.

"I- what? No! I'm just concerned for your safety, that's all."

"You should be worried for Midoriya's safety more than me, he literally always breaks his bones." I said.

He raised his eyebrows. "I thought he could control his quirk now?"

"That doesn't stop him from throwing himself into immediate danger for no regards for his safety, though."

"Eh, fair- wait you're straying away from the conversation at hand! I'm worried for your safety, because, some certain signs have led to me believing your house is not a safe environment." He glared at me.

"My house is perfectly safe, if you must know. At least I don't have the L.O.V knocking on my front door every two days."

"You know what, that's fair, and okay, I guess I'll take your word for it." He said, as his phone started ringing. "Oh, give me a minute." He walked away to answer his phone, while I let out a heavy sigh of relief. Thank God I am able to change subjects subtly. Though it seemed I would have to up my game around Shinsou.

"I can do that," I mumbled aloud to myself, Shinsou came back.

"Hey, so my dad wants me home, so, see you, Kaminari." He waved at me, I waved back.

"Bye, Shinsou!" I checked my phone. 20:43. We could head back around 22ish (10 pmish). Only about an hour longer.

I walked into school after I dropped Jayda off. I had been awake early enough considering I didn't want to wake up while they were still in the house, worse, awake. So I got Jayda ready early, and we walked to her school, we just hung around the school until around the time she usually went in, so I left her there and made my way to the train and took that to UA.

I had got there on time again. I was really surprised with myself on that.

"Denki! You're not late again!" Mina squealed as she ran up and hugged me tightly.

"Yeah, I'm not!" I put on a smile and hugged her back.

"Hey man!" I looked up and saw Kirishima coming up to Mina and I through the door as Mina let me go.

"Hey dude," we gave eachother a fist bump. The swelling on my eye had gone down a significant amount since last night after I treated it, I just put makeup over it still because it wasn't completely gone.

"Everyone sit down." Mr Aizawa said tiredly as he slowly got out of his sleeping bag. We sat down in our seats.

"Alright, so for today, we're going to do some combat in teams," he looked at a list. "Midoriya and Ashido against Todoroki and Sero, Bakugo and Iida against Shoji and Tsu, Yaoyorozu and Uraraka against Kaminari and Shinsou, Sato and Jirou against Koda and Aoyama, and finally Ojiro and Tokoyami against Kirishima and Hagakure." I looked towards Shinsou and he looked towards me tiredly. "Alright, everyone get into your hero uniforms, Shinsou you can just put on your PE uniform, and then come out to the field."

Once we all got out to the field, we were greeted with Aizawa. "You're all probably wondering why you were paired with who you were paired with." He looked us over tiredly. "That would be because you haven't really worked together, and your quirks don't exactly work well together. Well, your goal is to learn how to use your quirks with others, and work well in order to tie up your opponents. Teamwork is always key in a pro heros life, even if your quirks aren't exactly the best match with your teammate. Alright now, Midoriya and Ashido, you're up first against Todoroki and Sero. Rules are no serious injuries and no leaving the field, other than that go nuts."

Midoriya and Mina went up together to discuss a quick game plan, as did Todoroki and Sero. I wished Sero a quick good luck before he went out onto the field.

Mina and Midoriya were struggling at the beginning with Todoroki's ice and his fire. Although Mina melted some ice that came her way with her acid, they were still struggling. Sero eventually taped Mina, but she quickly melted it off of her with her acid. Midoriya was equally struggling. Him and Todoroki were pretty much equally matched in strength. Todoroki and Sero eventually won by a landslide. They were all pretty beat up.

"Alright, congratulations to Todoroki and Sero. Ashido, Midoriya, good try, use your loss as a way to make yourself better. Now, go see Recovery Girl if you need to, and now, Bakugo and Iida are up against Shoji and Tsu."

The battle went as expected. It seemed that Shoji and Tsu were relying on Bakugo's tendencies to not be communicating with Iida, and Iida's tendencies to want to communicate and follow directions. Instead of trying to separate them like you would usually do, Tsu and Shoji seemed to try and keep them together, probably so they could try and make them keep their eyes on eachother rather than their competition. I could see Tsu and Shoji subtly trying to go for Bakugo more than they did Iida. That made sense. Bakugo did the most damage with his explosions and violent personality. Tsu eventually got Iida with her tongue and tied him up. Her and Shoji then proceeded to try and work together to catch Bakugo. Tsu snuck up behind Bakugo and caught him with her tongue, while Shoji quickly tied Bakugo up.

"Excellent job Tsu and Shoji, Bakugo, you need to learn how to work with other people. Part of bring a hero is working with other people, even if you don't like them. That's the big thing that stands out from Bakugo's and Iida's loss, so next up is Shinsou and Kaminari against Yaoyorozu and Uraraka."

I turned towards Shinsou. "Do you have any ideas?"

"No, I was hoping you would. You know them better than I do as you've been in the class longer and have known them longer." That made sense. I went into deep thought. Uraraka had zero gravity, we just couldn't let her touch us, then we would be good. That doesn't mean that she didn't have excellent fighting skills or strategies though, she did, and they were great. Her weaknesses? Probably how she didn't come up with backup plans and her drive to just simply touch the other person rather than think logically, but she had Yaoyorozu with her, Yaoyorozu got into UA from recommendations for a reason. She was smart.

"Okay, I think I have an idea."
