Kaminari's POV

I opened my eyes to see a new environment and immediately jumped up, until I remembered last nights events a minute later. I laid back down slowly, trying not to wince at my wounds.

I stared up at the ceiling of Shinso's room, going over the events that had occurred last night. It had been a long night, especially for Jayda. God, I can't believe this has all happened to her. Her. A seven year old, innocent, child. She didn't deserve any of what happened to her. She deserved a happy family, an actual family that should've loved her.

"Kaminari, you awake?" I heard a tired, gruff voice ask. I turned my head, and found Shinso staring at me. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, but I ignored it. I wasn't mad at him, or at all, why do my cheeks feel warm?

"Yeah, I'm awake, why?" I asked. He rolled out of the bed and stood up. He turned back towards me and held out his hand. I gingerly took it, and he pulled me up.

"My dad's want to ask you questions, remember?" He jogged my memory. I chuckled half-heartedly.

"Yeah, I remember, how could I forget I'm going to get interrogated? Welp, let's get this over with." I sighed and left the room, Shinso following shortly after.

I entered and saw Jayda and Eri already at the table. Jayda looked happy, actually happy in a home. It brought a smile to my face as I saw her joke with Eri. Mr. Aizawa and Present Mic were in the kitchen, Mr. Aizawa cooking, while engaging in a serious conversation with Present Mic.

Shinso cleared his throat to get their attention. It didn't work at first, with all the other racket. He cleared his throat again, but louder this time. It caught their attention.

"Ah, Kaminari, Hitoshi. Perfect. Sit down, food will be served in a minute." Mr. Aizawa said. I blinked a couple of times, was this really Mr. Aizawa? Actually being nice? It was unheard of.

"Wow, Mr. Aizawa, are you actually being nice?" I joked. Mr. Aizawa turned around and glared at me.

"Don't get used to it." He growled. I held my hands up in a surrendering position.

"Alright, alright! I surrender. I don't want to loose perfectly good waffles." I said as I sat down next to Jayda, who was sitting next to Eri, and Shinso sat next to me.

"Morning, Jayda, Eri." I greeted. Jayda smiled up at me.

"Good morning, Denki! Guess what?" She asked. I pretend to think about it.

"Hm, chicken butt?" I guessed jokingly. She rolled her eyes and playfully shoved me.

"No! Eri has dolls, too! We made a dolly family this morning!" She giggled. I ruffled her hair and smiled at her.

"That's good, I'm glad you have someone to play with." I said. She smiled even wider and went back to eating her waffles.

"Mr. Kaminari?" Eri piped up. I looked at her.

"Yeah, Eri? What's up?" I asked.

"How come you and Jayda are here? I thought you lived somewhere else?" She asked. I decided against telling her the real reason, one, because it might trigger her about her past, and two, she was still a child.

"Oh, it's just temporary, don't worry, we'll be out of here in the blink of an eye." I giggled. She seemed satisfied with the answer and went back to eating her waffles and conversing with Jayda.

Mr. Aizawa and Present Mic came over to the table and sat in the two remaining chairs, and handing Shinso and I each a plate of waffles and bacon.

"Thanks, teach!" I said. Mr. Aizawa glared at me.

"So, little listener, why don't you tell me what you like to do in your spare time?" Present Mic asked. Probably to make small talk.

"Oh, um, I guess do random things on my phone, or train." I shrugged. He nodded and turned to Jayda.

"What about you, little little listener?" He asked. Jayda looked up at him.

"Oh! I like to draw and play with my toys!" She said excitedly. Present Mic laughed a bit.

"You and Eri must get along, then!" He said. Eri and Jayda both nodded.

"Yeah! We're best friends!" Eri declared. Jayda giggled and backed her up.

"Yeah! Best friends!" Jayda said. We all giggled a bit at their display. Present Mic asked Jayda another question.

"What's your favorite subject in school, kiddo?"

She thought about it for a minute. "Hm, I really like math and science! Though math is hard, but it's fun!" She answered.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" He asked.

"I want to be a hero!" She said. Present Mic giggled.

"You do? Do you have a reason behind it?" He asked, she nodded.

"I want to save people, and motivate them, like someone did with me years ago! I want to give people a reason to love the world, even if it seems dark!" She declared.

"Damn, kid has a better reason than most pro heroes." Mr. Aizawa said as he bit off a piece of his waffle.

"Shota!" Present Mic whisper-yelled.

"What?" Mr. Aizawa asked innocently.

"By the way, I should probably thank you guys for the hospitality you showed us, for both Jayda and I," I spoke up. Mr. Aizawa looked at me with concern and raised eyebrows.

"Toga, is that you?" He asked. I tilted my head a bit in a confused manner.

"Huh? What gives you that idea?" I asked. He gestured towards me.

"Just that the Kaminari I know is never polite like this." He said. I blinked and then laughed.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," I said. Eri and Jayda finished their waffles. Present Mic stood up and took their plates.

"Alright, you little listeners can go play in Eri's room, okay?" Eri and Jayda both nodded, and Jayda yelled something about her getting to be Ken now. I shrugged.

Present Mic washed the dishes and then sat back down in his seat, his light-hearted look gone, and replaced with that of a more serious manner.

"Now, it's about time we talk about what's been happening, shouldn't we?"
