Chapter Five

Okay peeps! It is chapter five now! Thanks for those who've read, commented and voted but anyways i really don't expect much and hope to know that some of you actually loved this book! :DDD

Chapter Five

(Natsume's POV) 

My heart nearly stopped when I saw Cadan and Daniel were going for each other again. 

So without second thoughts, I quickly shifted and stand between them, trying to protect my mate. 

"What do you think you are doing, Nat? Get out of the way!" Cadan asked urgently through our mate mind link. 

I wouldn't blame him, after all what he wanted to do is to protect me. 

"Let me protect you this time Cadan, Daniel won't hurt me." I tried to reassure my mate but it didn't seem to work because he was more tensed than before. 

"Natsume, what do you think you are doing? You shifted because...?" Daniel threw the mind link to me, hope in his voice. 

"No Daniel, I shifted in order to put some sense into the hard skull of yours." I retorted back. 

I heard Cadan sighed in relief mentally and I chuckled at the sound of it. 

Daniel continued his communication with me, "Hey, Natsume. Come to me, my wolf and me yearn for you." He begged. 

Cadan growled, stepping towards me and stopped when he was next to me, we quickly seemed to shrink in size when Cadan's huge wolf was beside me. 

"Hear your own wolf's voice, Daniel, you really think I am your mate? Because I am not your true mate. Mine is Cadan, I am sure your true mate is living elsewhere." 

I tried to reason with Daniel, hoping desperately that he would really know what true mates were about. 

But unfortunately, he clearly dismissed the meaning of my words because then he launched for Cadan, again.

(Cadan's POV) 

I really didn't know what had happened to Daniel when he was first born, how come he could be this stupid? And he attacked me again. I rolled my eyes and just side-stepped him. 

With a loud thump, he fell onto the ground, whimpering. I still saw some wires attached to him and so I shifted back, picked him up and put him back to his bed, and he fell asleep soon enough. 

I turned back to Natsume, who quickly rushed over to me in her human form. "You okay?" She asked. I nodded and said, "Let's go back to your house, there is something I needed to discuss with you." 

"Okay..." She said, eyeing me suspisciously, I blocked her out intentially as I wanted to keep it a secret. 

We went back downstairs, we quickly said goodbyes to everyone and left. But I stopped when I saw James standin near the door, as if waiting for me to say something. 

I knew I surprised Natsume when I left her, took a little breath and went towards James. Holding out my phone, he looked at me in surprise too, he seemed to want to say something but I cut him off. 

"I think we need to exchange our numbers because I've changed my phone number." He then quickly nodded and dial the number on my phone. When he's done, he gave me back my phone. I said goodnight to him and went out of the pack house with Natsume. 

"Well, you really surprised me though, back there." As soon as we were in the land rover, Natsume told me. "Like when?" I asked her. "Like just now when you side-stepped Daniel and when you exchange your phone numbers with James!" She laughed. 

I smiled sweetly to her, "Glad you are laughing at last." I murmured to her, closing the distance between our faces. 

I then brushed my lips to hers. After some minutes of soft kissing, I bit her lower lip gently, asking for entrance. She accepted it and opened her mouth to let my tongue slided in. 

Our tongues entwining in her mouth, I devoured her mouth with so much passion that she let out a moan. We continued kissing like this in the car for a while longer until we were both out of breath. 

She then rested her head on my shoulder, "You are getting me a bit wet, you know that?" She asked softly. 

"I don't know, never thought of that." I chuckled and started to lick her earlobe, causing her shivered in delight and desire. 

"Alright, let's go back." I reluctantly pulled back from her and started the engine, and she just groaned. 

"What is it, babe?" I asked innocently. "Shut up, you know how much you affected me, right?" She muttered. And I bit back a grin, which she punched my arm a little bit.

(Natsume's POV) 

Cadan drove my Land Rover in such a speed that I had to cring onto his left arm. 

"You know I need that arm to drive right?" Cadan chuckled, yet placed his hand onto mine, warming it immediately. 

I let out a content sigh when Cadan's touch quickly calmed me down. "That's what mates are for." He mocked. 

"Of course not!" I quickly replied, causing Cadan to chuckled more. 

In order to hide my embarassement, I quickly ask my mate, "So what is it that you need to talk about?" 

I at first thought Cadan would merrily answer me but his face fell suddenly, he focused on the road, pretending that I had not said anything at all. 

"Hey... If you don't wanna talk about it, that's fine..." I pouted slightly, worry began to fill me when he still remained silent. 

"You will see..." He finally said something, at least, that's better than none, and there went - awkward silence.
