Chapter Twelve

(Daniel's POV)

I couldn't help it anymore. Seeing Nat's tummy getting bigger and bigger, the strange feelings and longings within my body grew along too.

Two weeks had passed since Natsume and Cadan told me about Nat's pregnancy. Today, they would be able to go and find out the gender of their baby.

This made me very antsy, I've always suspected that Nat was having my mate inside of her, yet she should have a baby boy inside of her as this was her first born.

I was snapped out from my thoughts when I heard Nat and Cadan descending down the stairs.

"Dan? We are going to see the pack doctor, we will know our pup's gender!" Nat told me excitingly.

I gave her a half-hearted smile. I caught Cadan's sympaphic look and I nodded curtly at that.

Nat looked at our little exchange, puzzled. We hadn't told her about the attraction I felt towards the pup she's carrying.

"Let's not this affect Nat, she already has a lot of stress." Cadan had told me when we were discussing the plans of eliminating my birth pack. I was getting a bit restless and I wanted to tell Nat about the attraction.

I had sighed at that time. "I know man, but still it keeps bugging me as if I am not normal."

I had remembered Cadan put a hand on my shoulder for reassurance.

"Hello? Earth to Daniel?" Nat asked, waving her hand in front of me. I blinked twice, "Er, yeah?" I stammered.

Nat rolled her eyes, she opened her mouth, luckily Cadan came to my rescue by saying, "Nat, why don't we go now?"

Nat nodded but narrowed her eyes at me. I looked at Cadan gratefully. Phew, who knew what Nat would say?

Cadan gently guided Nat towards the door. I promised to take care of the house when they went out.

When I was sure they were out of sight, I took off my clothes, opened the door, unlocked it and shifted into my wolf.

I really needed this run, the restless feeling within me was killing me. I looked around me in my wolf form.

My eyes narrowed as I scanned the land before me. During one of those long nights of discussing plans with Cadan and his beta, Gary, Cadan asked me to join the pack.

I still hadn't answered that offer yet, though during all these times I had mingled well with Cadan's pack.

I was sure if Nat was carrying my mate, I would sure I'd stayed in this pack. I was walking around, sniffing, when I scented something.

Wolf.

I narrowed my eyes as my eyes zeroed to the wolf a few miles ahead of me. He was head wind so he didn't scent me.

I crouched and pushed myself forward, my whole body tensed.

When I got closer to my wolf, I started seeing red. I gritted my teeth to bite back a growl.

The wolf in front of me, with his back facing me, was my father.

The first thing that came into my mind was to mindlink Cadan.

Just as I was about to mindlink Cadan, Cadan's excited voice came through my mind.

"Bro! Guess what's the genders of Nat's babies?" Cadan was all worked up. I stopped dead at my track.
