"Bananas are elite."

"No way, pineapples are."

"Theyre good but like- can you just take a pineapple to go? No, you've gotta go through all the time of cutting it up and shit."

Vinnie chuckles, his hair hanging down to cover his face as he hunches over on the kitchen floor. A light breeze blows in through the open door that gives us the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower from where Vinnie and I sit, painting on the floor.

He moves his paintbrush across his canvas and bounces his head, "I guess you're right."

I rest my canvas in my lap, my back up against the cabinets, across from Vinnie, paints and coloring supplies that I found in the library scattered out across the floor.

I take my paintbrush and pull it down to paint a leg on the spider I'm painting. "I know I'm right."

The room falls silent besides the sound of the little radio on the counter thats playing a soft french tune, and our brush thistles going across the canvases.

After we ate lunch, we went for a walk up the street and along the River. We found a few store fronts that I hadn't seen before to my surprise, and went inside of them to check them out. That eventually led to us goofing off in a hat store. We stood In the mirror for a solid half hour, trying on different hats and laughing our asses off until a worker came and told us to buy something or leave... so I found that blue beret my mom wanted and left with a few things for ourselves.

Hours later, we ended up here on the kitchen floor. Vinnie in a sweater because of the chilled air coming through the door. I told him we could close the door but he insisted on keeping it open so he had two pretty views.

Such a simp, But I love it.

My phone starts singing fat bottom girls on the kitchen table, Vinnie and I both sitting up at the sound.

I put my paintbrush down and stand up to grab my phone.

I slide the little phone across my screen and put it up to my ear, "Hi we've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty."

"ARE YOU IN FRANCE?!" Annie yells into my ear, making me flinch.

I look down at Vinnie whos staring up at me with his brows raised.

He definitely heard that too.

"Uh yea?" I pull one of the chairs out from under the table, "Why?"

Annie scoffs in annoyance, "Because you didn't tell any of us!"

I slowly sit down in my seat, realizing I really didnt tell anyone besides my family and Madison that I was leaving.

"Oh shit Annie," I bite my thumb nail, avoiding Vinnies gaze, "I completely forgot to tell you guys. I forgot until the last second that I was even going."

"But you could tell Vinnie right? Because he went with you."

I turn down the volume on my phone and rest my elbow on the table, "Yea? I needed someone to go with me."

"And you couldn't have asked one of your friends? You asked the guy you've known for a couple weeks instead?" I can just hear the frown on her face, "Plus Juni; you've gone soo many different places before by yourself. you didn't have to bring him, you chose to bring him."

I shake my head, with a sinking feeling in my stomach thats moving rapidly to my toes. "Annie, you know I wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone's feelings."
