Valeria

Morning of November 6th, 2038 - 10:25 AM

Valeria had the displeasure of sitting in the back of Hank's car, next to the CyberLife priss. They were on their way to the Ravendale district as it started to rain, so Valeria let her read rest against the window to watch the raindrops roll down the glass. They pulled up in front of a small convenience store and got out after Hank parked, with Connor opening the door for Cynthia. Valeria rolled her eyes as she stepped out onto the sidewalk, her eyes closing as the cool rain hit her skin.

"Officer Wilson? I have an umbrella, if you'd like to join me," Cynthia said, but Valeria shook her head.

"I'm good, but thanks," she said, folding her arms over her chest. She glanced over at Hank, who'd been receiving a debriefing from another cop on the scene. As the younger cop walked away, Detective Collins approached him, and the two men began to talk. Valeria leaned against the side of Hank's car, soon joined by Connor and Cynthia, who were both quiet.

"Never been to this part of town, have you?" Valeria asked, glancing at Connor.

"Is it that obvious?" he replied, his mouth quirking into a half smile.

"Not at all," she teased. "So, what's going on in that processor of yours? I think I can see some gears turning, maybe a bit of smoke rising from your ears."

"Very funny," he said as Hank walked towards them, his gaze on his tablet. "It took the first bus that came along, and stayed at the end of the line. Its decision wasn't planned, it was driven by fear."

"Androids don't feel fear," Hank scoffed.

"Deviants do," Connor, Valeria, and Cynthia said in unison. They all looked at one another, and Valeria cleared her throat before looking away, rubbing the back of her neck gently.

"They get overwhelmed by their emotions and make irrational decisions," Connor added.

"Ah, well, that still doesn't tell us where it went," Hank said, looking between the three of them.

"It didn't have a plan, and it had nowhere to go," Connor said, tilting his head slightly. "Maybe it didn't go far."

"Maybe."

"Well well, 'droid genius," Valeria said, pushing herself off of the car. "Got any idea where our suspects could've gone?" She stood up on the curb, arching a brow at Connor as he looked around the area. She spared a glance at Hank, who, to her surprise, returned it, shrugging his shoulders a bit before Connor pointed to a seemingly abandoned building.

"Why don't we try there?" he asked. Valeria looked over, eyeing it briefly before nodding.

"Lead the way."

Watching for traffic, Connor led the others over to the building, stopping in front of a chain link fence. He peered around as Valeria took a few steps back to analyze her surroundings. The fence wasn't too high for her to climb, so she shrugged her shoulders and grabbed onto the metal. Connor watched her as she climbed, mouth open like he wanted to scold her, but he said nothing. She dropped down onto the other side, her boots sinking a bit into the muddy ground.

"Anybody home?" Connor called, and she rolled her eyes.

"Like they're gonna answer you. Just get your plastic ass over here so we can go inside," she said. She watched as Connor found a hole in the fence and climbed through, glancing back at it as he joined her side.

"There's blue blood on the fence. I know another android was here," he said.

"Super sleuthing, detective," she said, rolling her eyes again. "Let's just get a move on." Together, the two of them began to walk along the side of the building, the rain hitting and rolling down their faces. Connor stopped to take a look through one of the boarded up windows, and when he stepped back, he glanced at her, then back to the window. She nodded, and they quietly crept up to the door, with Connor taking the lead and opening it slowly, keeping Valeria behind him. They both entered, and a lone android with a large gash across its face stood in the center of the room. The android was dressed in a tarp shawl that covered his standard uniform, and he twitched at times.
