Valeria

Afternoon of November 8th, 2038 - 4:10 PM

Valeria was in the elevator with Connor and Hank, heading up to the seventy ninth floor of the Stratford Tower. Earlier that day, the tower had been broken into by a group of deviants, and a message had been broadcasted out for all of Detroit to see and hear. She was leaning against the wall of the elevator as Connor played with his coin, tossing it between his fingers and between his hands, until Hank snatched it.

"You're starting to piss me off with that coin, Connor," he muttered, stuffing it into his jacket pocket.

"Sorry, Lieutenant," Connor apologized, glancing over to Valeria who winked as the doors slid open. They all exited onto the floor, and Chris was nearby, reading something on his tablet. He looked up, and he greeted them with a nod.

"Hey, Hank, Val," he said.

"Hey, Chris," she said, clapping him on the shoulder.

"Shit, what's going on here? There was a party and nobody told me about it?" Hank asked, looking around.

"Yeah, it's all over the news, so everybody's butting their nose in. Even the FBI wants a piece of the action," Chris said, and Hank rolled his eyes.

"Ah, Christ. Now we got the Feds on our backs... I knew this was gonna be a shitty day. So, what do we got?"

"A group of four androids. They knew the building, and they were very well organized. I'm still trying to figure out how they got this far without being noticed," Chris explained, and Valeria nodded as she walked behind him and alongside Connor.

"Can I give them props? I'm gonna give them props," she said, setting her hands on her hips.

"Don't give props to the enemy," Connor mumbled, reaching to give her hand a subtle squeeze. She scoffed, but not before returning the squeeze and then tucking her hands into her pockets.

"They attacked two guards in the hallway... They probably thought the androids were coming to do maintenance. They got taken down before they could react," Chris continued, and Valeria leaned up a bit closer to Connor.

"Told you, no one ever suspects the janitor," she whispered, grinning as he rolled his eyes.

"One of the station employees managed to get away. He's in shock, not sure when we'll be able to talk to him," Chris said as they walked down to the broadcast room. Hank stopped at the receptionist desk and peered over, shaking his head before turning back to walk down the hall.

"How many people were working here?" he asked.

"Just two employees and three androids. The deviants tools the humans hostage and broadcast their message live. They made their getaway from the roof," Chris explained.

"The roof?" Hank asked.

"Yeah, they jumped with parachutes... We're still trying to figure out where they landed, but the weather's not helping. If you wanna take a look at the video broadcast by the deviants, it's on that screen over there," Chris said, motioning to the broadcast room.

"Sounds good to me. Let's hear it and see if they said anything unreasonable," Valeria said, making her way into the broadcast room. Hank and Chris followed her, and Connor came in last, walking over to stand beside her.

"Oh, by the way," Chris said, motioning to another man. "This is Special Agent Perkins from the FBI. Lieutenant Anderson is in charge of investigating for Detroit Police."
