FORGIVENESS

Chapter 6

Another night,the same nightmare.She just wished she could at least dream of something else.

She was on her way to Shadow.She knew what was coming,but that's what her heart needs to do every night,thinking that it could make the pain disappear only for a little bit.But it never does.

She passed the forest she always sees on her way to him,and admired the moon,that never runs away from her.It is always here,even if sometimes clouds are trying to take it away from Amy,she still knows it will never pass away.That brings her relief,knowing that something will actually be there forever.

She was close to Sonic's old house,but something happened.Something stopped her.She never stopped in her way here,but this time,she found a bench and sat down.She didn't understand what happened,but didn't complained.It's getting boring to do the same thing over and over again.

"Hi,Amy."she heard a voice calling her.

She started looking for the person who called her,but couldn't find anyone around.

"Right here,Rosie."
She recognized the voice and looked up.

"Hi,Rouge."

The bat was flying above Amy.
They haven't met in a while,but the beautiful hedgehog wasn't surprised.After the unexpected incident nothing could shock her again.

"Heard you need some company."
She said and sat next to her.

Amy closed her eyes.No,she didn't even care about anyone.

"Well,of course I want to help my beautiful girl,so I got here on a pretty long vacation.Might take forever,I guess!"she exclaimed and stood up.

Rouge has always been an elegant woman.She loved having everything she wanted,and knowing that people adore her.But really,she was beautiful.Years ago,Amy got pretty jealous.She always had all the attention,and Amy got nothing.That was pretty sad,but she moved on.

"Okay."she responded and immediately stood.
"Imma go now.."Amy said,trying to get away from the mysterious bat.

"Where are ya going?I wouldn't mind if I come with you."
"Of course you wouldn't .."Amy thought.

She had a routine to finish,and Rouge was ruining it.

"I'm going to Sonic's."

Rouge knew what she was talking about,because of Amy's friends.She just wanted to hear it from her.

"To Sonic's?"

Amy nodded.Now she needed to run away.

Rouge stopped for a little bit.

"Where does he live?"

Amy sighed and looked back at the moon.Her anger was growing after a long time.

"He.."

"Come on,tell me sunshine.I'm not going to steal him from you,girly."
Rouge knew how to play this game,just to annoy her.She knew how she used to act like,and wanted to see what happens.

When Amy was about to say something,she saw Sonic sitting on the bench.He was here,being curious.Because of anger,she ignored him.

"None of your business."

That's all she had to say?Rouge really expected more.She knew Amy was angry,she could easily see it on her face,but maybe she didn't feel like fighting someone at 3am.

"I'm sorry."she whispered again,feeling guilty.
"I'm so sorry,I'm selfish."

"No,you're not!I was just playing with you.I know what happened."

Rouge looked serious.She understood what Amy was going through.

"No,I should've act more mature.I'm sorry."

Rouge felt bad.It doesn't happen a lot,but she feels guilty too.She shouldn't play with her in such a state.Then,she did something she didn't expect to do.

The bat hugged Amy tight.

The pink hedgehog,exactly like as a kid in her mother's arms,squeezed her as hard as she could.She started crying really bad,while Rouge was petting her head,whispering and encouraging her.

Just imagine it.A hopeless girl crying in a woman's arms,the twos standing in the moon's pale light.That picture broke Shadow's dark heart,who was watching in silence.
He knew exactly what Amy was going through.He lost someone too in the past,and it still hurts.

"I miss him,"she cried loud.
"I miss him too much!"
"I don't think I can handle the pain."
"I think if the moment I saw him dead every second!"
"And I can't move on"
"Maybe if I didn't see him,it would be better."
"Or if I didn't let him go,it would've been better."

Rouge let her say what she needed to say,and when she stopped crying,and she was only sobbing,Rouge started to caress her head.

"I know it's hard to lose someone you love,but remember.It's even worse to lose yourself while loving them."

Amy nodded.That was true.Very true.

"Thank you,thank you,thank you so much.You don't know how much this means to me,I wanted a hug more than everything,thank you."
Rouge smiled.
"Anytime,pinky."
