It's been 4 months since Amy and Kay have met,and life seemed to get happier. They realized that they had a lot of things in common. The two of them were hurting, but each other's presence made them feel safe.Amy's friends new about Kay,but she didn't tell them about the dream.

They became closer and closer. In the first night, they realized that they have constant nightmares too.Kay was dreaming about his mother and Amy about Sonic.

~...~

"AH!"Amy screamed, and then noticed the little boy staring at her in shock.

They were sleeping, but Amy's nightmare said that it's time to wake up.They stared for some long moments, until Kay started crying.

"Oh no,I'm so so sorry!"Amy said and grabbed Kay' little hand, and pulled him into a hug.

"It wasn't you.."he said while sobbing in her arms.

"Then what was it?"

Amy's voice was very calming and sweet. It made him feel the presence he needed.A mother's.

"I have a nightmare every night."

Amy placed her hand on his head. They were so similar.

"What is it about?"

"About my mom.She died when I was little."

"I have nightmares too."

"Really?How do you handle them?"

Amy shrugged. She didn't know either. She took him in her arms and sat up better in bed.

"Kay,if you feel scared,remember that I'm here.Okay?"

He nodded. For the first time,he felt safe. His life wasn't easy, and it never was.
His father was a villain and he killed the little boy's mother when he was a baby.
Since the day she left,he was left behind. His father wasn't able to take care of him,and abandoned him in the ravine days ago.He was only 4 years old,but his life was really hard.

~...~

Amy and Kay were walking on the small village's streets.Amy was holding his little hand, while he was telling her stories about dinosaurs. She would always read him stories about them after the nightmares, reading made them feel better. He was learning from her.

"Do you wanna go to MehBurger?"she asked.

He loved MehBurger.Mostly of the time he insisted to come here.

"Yes!Yes,yes,yes!"

Amy smiled. She watched the little boy run to his favourite table.

"Hi,Dave!"
"Hello,Amy.How is it going?"
"I'm great."

Then ,she looked at the little boy.He knew it was hard for her to talk to the others. He smiled and winked.

"I want a chillidog and a burger without mayonnaise,please."

She turned back again. He clapped without any sound, and winked.

"Okay.Here we go!"

When Amy went back to Kay,he took the chillidog and took a mouthful of it.

"You did great!"

"Thanks."

On their way home,Amy suddenly stopped.

"Kay?Let me show you something."

They slipped through a bush and reached the edge of a lake.

It was perfect. The birds were singing to the water that was running fast.

"Wow.."the little boy said, and ran to see the water closer.

Amy remained silent. She watched the little boy being happy, and that made her smile.

"I didn't know that I could ever come back here.."
She sighed and sat down on the green grass. It brings her lots of memories.

And then...She listened to the beautiful trill the birds gave her,and tears started falling on her checks.

The little boy noticed her.He ran to the little hedgehog and sat in front of her.

"Why are the birds' songs making you cry?"

"They remind me of someone."

"Someone who made you sad?"

"No..Someone who made me very very happy."

He placed his hand on her cheek and slipped the tears away.

"Am I making you happy too?"

Amy smiled.

"More than happy."

She hugged the little wolf.He brings so much joy in her heart...She couldn't be more grateful of having him.

Even if she learned that everything goes to an end.
