I was on a mission. I had to know how that human had that voice and I would stop at nothing to get that. I came out from around the corner of the cliff and I approached the human silently. She had her eyes closed, they wouldn't stay closed for long. I splashed some water at her. She didn't seem to think much of it. The sea water splashed on rocks all the time. I tried again and it didn't work. I huffed in frustration.

I tried my best to get as close to the land as possible and reached out, grabbing her leg. Her leg was smooth and warm, something I wasn't quite used to. I didn't know what I expected to happen. I should've considered this more as her stormy gray eyes shot open and she gave out a rather shrill scream.

She scrambled away from the edge of the rock as quickly as she could. Her eyes were wide and her chest was moving up and down rapidly with the breath which exited her mouth. I wasn't holding on to her tight so my hand simply fell onto the rock. I used it to lift myself up and lean over the rock. I was glaring at her. She stole my voice, I wanted to know how.

Her voice seemed to have left her as she stared right back at me without blinking. I wondered if it was common for people to lose their voice. I wondered where it went as my eyes narrowed even more. She was shaking for some reason. It was warm, she shouldn't be cold. I leant forward and balanced on one of my arms as I pointed at her.

"W-what?" even as she spoke the melody which was her voice rang softly in my ears. It was beautiful. It was like the clouds clearing and the first blue sky in spring. I gave her a stern look. I didn't know how to get my meaning across. She had my voice and it wasn't fair, I couldn't use it to express that. "What?" She repeated a little louder with a look of confusion on her face.

That time, I didn't feel like she was talking to me. Rather she was looking at something behind me. I turned around with questioning eyes and saw nothing out of the ordinary. She was staring at me when I turned back to her and I tilted my head. "What are you?" she asked with a stutter. I rolled my eyes slightly and narrowed them again, trying to get closer to her.

She pressed herself against the rock and said quickly "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She shut her pretty eyes tightly and braced herself. I would've crossed my arms if they weren't being used to hold me up at that moment. I wanted to huff but I didn't like to do it when I was out of the water.

I moved closer to her without making any noise. She opened one eye and then closed it again. I reached my hand out and poked her. I was sure that it must've hurt a little bit but I didn't really care. I didn't want to hurt her. I wanted to know how she got my voice. It had to have been mine! She was human and she had a voice like a Sirenneyet. I was the only Sirenneyet without a voice, it was obvious.

She flinched back as I touched her and her hand reached up to her neck. Even though I didn't scratch her or even leave a mark. She seemed to watch me curiously as I just put my arm down. My eyes were still staring at her. I had hoped that she would be able to tell something by the look in my eyes. She just watched me silently and shivered.

I wasn't going anywhere. I wanted answers. I knew she probably wouldn't come forward unless I went backwards. I shrugged my shoulders and backed away from the side of the rocks and she stood up. She was much taller than I thought she would be. She took a few steps towards me and crouched down to look at me.

I wanted her to speak. It would've been better than the silence between us. As soon as I thought that I regretted it. A sudden loud bang was heard along with a very angry male voice. "Get away from my daughter you filthy Sirenneyet!" We both sprung back from each other as something splashed the water beside me. I had to flee.

It was only when I was at my cave did I wonder how he knew our name. It was something odd for humans to know. I had never met a human who knew our name. Actually, that girl was the first human that I had touched. I should've been more careful. I was just so driven by anger and a need for answers.

I sank down to the sea bed and crossed my arms, I stared around my cave with slight boredom and irritation. I had nothing to do and honestly I wish that I had stayed. It would've been much more interesting. I would've probably ended up being injured but it would've been far more interesting than down here. I used to be a part of a family and my family used to be a part of a clan. It hadn't been long since I was left on my own.

I got up with an angry grunt and decided to go for a swim. I liked talking to the fishes and dolphins which were nearby. Even if I couldn't talk to them, they seemed to always know what I'm trying to say, unlike that human girl. I shook my head and glared at the top of the water. I don't know why I thought that, I don't know why she was still in my brain. I should just get over her and that event. Even if she had my voice, I wouldn't be able to get it back. I didn't have any magic or powers which would cause that to happen.
