The cold air whipped pasted. Stranded pieces of hair rode the icicle wave. "Why here, again?" You shivered. "It's silent, beautiful, and...far" Sam's shoes walked easily across the heavy snow while you were sinking calf-deep.Sam's adjusted his voice. He lent a handout. "Can I?" You took his hand. In one swift motion, your weight finally settled comfortably on the snow. "Thanks" You laughed at the previous pathetic state you were in.
Sam raised his head to enjoy the view. "So" You muttered. Your tone wasn't rushing but it wasn't patient. "Yes," Sam swallowed and turned back to you. His moods were so flipped. It was true, the mountains were so silent you could hear the pale leaves floating down to the floor.
The view wasn't anything special except thick layers of condensation circling other mountains. "How is your day going?" You paused at Sam's question. 'Guess he chickened out' "Alright, yours?" "I forgot to ask before we came to Snowchester, but did you eat?"
"Yeah" You hummed, watching another leaf fall on the plush snow. "What's with you and Quackity?" The following silence seemed like someone broke the 4th wall. "Huh?" You almost wanted to laugh at the confusion displayed on your face.
"I saw you guys hanging out. So are you two dating or something" Sam kept glancing at you for an answer. "Me and Quackity?" You threw your head back in laughter. "Well...?" Sam was serious. "Sure. Me and ~Quackity~ are dating" You tried not to laugh while saying his name.
"Stop joking" "I'm not! I and Quackity are in love. He left Sapnap and Karl for me" Sam quietly scoffed. However, his muscles relaxed. Small snowflakes gathered on the edge of his plastic mask. Sam's fluffy green hair swirled in the breeze.
"Look at the drop" You reached out a finger, pointing directly at the slope on a nearby mountain. Sam's eyes trailed up your arm to the view, his slight fear of heights made him double back. "What happened?" Sam's thumb brushed over the dark beige bandage wrapped around your pointer and middle finger.
"Clumsy paper cut- -But look at the view" You brushed off his prying hand, jabbing into the air at the clumps of snows falling into the fog. Sam looked down at you, nodding at your words. The interaction of your touch still circled through his veins.
Maybe he was getting hypothermia because the snow seeping through the thick knitted fabrics could seem like air. The only thing on his mind was the revolution of heat rising his cheeks.
A/N: I was thinking about putting a hiatus on the book since a lot of people are going back to school and I don't want to be a distraction. But while thinking about it I forgot about writing chapters. I'll most likely post another chapter then put the book on hiatus for 1-3 weeks. I love you all!
