CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX!
                      — endless her

"But they aren't total knobs."

ONE YEAR LATER AFTER
VALERIE'S DEATH

GIVE IT SOME TIME, HARRY.

Have a nice bath, Harry.

Stop crying, Harry.

Be stronger than this, Harry.

You'll move on from it, Harry.

She's in a better place now, Harry.

We miss her too, Harry.

Your not special, Harry.

There's nothing more we can do, Harry.

He had heard so many things over the past year. From people, he would see in coffee shops to his friends. Different variants of 'move on.' But he couldn't just move on from her death. Every second moving on was another punch in the gut.

The sent of her had worn off the jumpers of his she would steal like a hobby.

Other people began to sit in her seat.

Her favorite books began to fall apart.

The tree that had been planted at Hogwarts in her honor was destroyed by bad weather.

The tides had come in and erased every ounce of proof she ever even existed.

He can't even eat chocolate without feeling guilty.

He can't even look at himself without feeling like a failure.

There was so much Harry felt as if he could've done to save her. To bring back the life she brought into every room. To have her graduate Hogwarts beside him. Anything to not see Sirius's depression and Remus's sadness for the next six months. He doesn't know how they even were able to progress at all.

Maybe, it was because they had her old room to go to when they were grieving. It looked just like how she would keep it. They never cleaned the few shirts on the floor or the cup on her bedside table, it was a preserved memory of Valerie. Everything in the house she liked stay there, even down to the hair ties.
