No matter how much you tried, you couldn't take your eyes off Jisoo. At one point, she noticed your gaze and smirked, causing you to turn away and redden with embarrassment.
Y/N, get it together, she's your best friend. Even though she's beautiful and all don't think about her in a non-platonic way. Remember, she's your best friend. Your roommate. That's it.
"Hello? Earth to Y/N!" A whisper-yell in your ear made you come back to reality.
"Yah! What the heck, Hyejin?" Startled, you spun around to face your classmate.
"I was wondering if you'd go on a date with me?"
"A date?!" Perhaps this was a good idea, so you could possibly get your mind off Jisoo. But you would hate to have to say to Hyejin that you weren't interested in her at the end.
"Yeah...what do you think?"
After a few moments of hesitating, you gave in. "Alright, sure, okay,"
She beamed. "I'll text you the location, see you after school, Y/N!"

"Bye Jis," You were ready to leave the apartment for your date with Hyejin. You were quite ecstatic as she was bringing you to a five star, world-famous restaurant downtown .
"Where are you going?"
Oh right, I haven't told her yet.
"To a date with Hyejin."
"A date?!" Jisoo's reaction was similar to yours when Hyejin first asked you.
"Yeah, have a problem with that?" You asked. Secretly, you were hoping she did.
"Of course not, have fun."

"Oh Y/N! You're already here." You looked up from the game on your phone and saw Hyejin.
"Hi," You greeted her with a small smile, feeling slightly awkward.
Hyejin was all smiles, and it hurt you to think that you'd have to tell her someday that you liked somebody else.
"Hey, you alright? You look troubled."
"Don't worry Jinnie, I'm fine." You smiled and mentally slapped yourself for using a nickname.
She'll think you like her, and she'll hurt more.
Indeed, her beam reached her ears, making you have a sinking feeling in your stomach.
"Uh, I need to go to the bathroom," You excused yourself.
"Darn it...," You looked at yourself in the mirror. "Y/N think. Is it better to tell her now or later?"
I guess telling her now would be a bit better. So she doesn't get too attached to me. You frowned, still gazing at your reflection. As if she'll love a potato like me. She's friendly and beautiful, she doesn't even deserve me.
Slowly, you made your way back to the table.

"Thanks Hyejin, tonight was great." You smiled and rubbed your full stomach. You had eaten so much you could have been mistaken for a pregnant woman, as your date had remarked.
"No problem! I can bring you here often if you'd like." Your smile slightly wavered, but you fixed it before she noticed. Hyejin paused, before asking the question you couldn't answer. "So are we official now?"
"I...well...," You brushed a strand of hair behind your ear, feeling nervous.
"Well what?" You could sense the tenseness in her voice from your silence.
"I'm sorry...I like someone else." You looked down, fearing her reaction.
"Oh...," It seemed Hyejin couldn't find words. She didn't sound angry, her voice was gentle yet broken, and it hurt you to see your friend like this.
"I'm so sorry." You still didn't have the courage to look up, knowing that seeing her sad expression would break you as well.
"It's okay...," You glanced up slightly, and saw a sad smile on Hyejin's face. "I understand."

"How was your date?" Was what Jisoo first asked. But then, upon seeing how down you looked, changed the question. "What happened? You look like you got rejected."
"I rejected someone." You answered, giving a bitter laugh.
"Is that so? Then what brought you to this state?"
"You worried about me Jis?" You raised an eyebrow and smiled cockily.
"Of course," She scoffed. "I'm your best friend."
You're my crush as well.
