*1st December, Morning in Solan*
"Good Morning Sir" A little girl spoke with a grin on her face and her hands behind her back. Her hair were tied up in two pony tails Kabir noticed as she scrunched her nose up at the sun and then removed her woolen pink colored cap.
"Good Morning, what are you doing in the ground? It is the second period right now right?" He asked and then looked towards the bench to pick his timetable for the day and check it again.
"yes sir..but class 5th B has a substitution with you..Namrata Miss is on a sick leave." She informed letting out relaxing breaths which was because of the warmth of the sun he assumed. The classes tend to get extremely cold during winters. However it was just two weeks more and then the students would go for their Christmas break.
"Do you want to stay in the class or come and play for substitution?" Kabir asked and her eyes lit up. She was aware that the Physical Education teachers were not allowed to take the students to the ground to play during the first two periods.
"Come and play Sir, the classes are really cold" She explained.
"You are a prefect?" He asked trying to focus on the little golden badge pinned near the pocket on her school coat.
"Head-Girl" She grinned proudly.
"Get a written permission from the in-charge? I will call Ma'am and tell her that I have sent you. Just ask her for a signed note for class 5th-B and come straight to the ground. Till then I will get the rest of the class here" He explained hanging a red colored whistle around his neck as the girl nodded and ran off in the direction of the primary block again.
His eyes flickered to his right in the direction of the ramp that connected the senior block and the ground as he heard footsteps and light chatters. His lips turned upwards as he saw his wife Jessica Ahuja, walking towards the ground with a batch of ten students of class 12th. She was dressed in a woolen suit and a white colored cap covered her head. Her fair skin had turned slightly pink from the cold he noticed. She laughed at one of the remarks made by the students and then shifted her long hair that were put into a neat braid to her back from her left shoulder. Her hands had a yellow colored book and a pen.
Jessica noticed him and passed him a quick smile before the students could notice and the teenage kinds teasing would begin. The school authorities were aware that they were married but the twelfth class batch that she taught were very close to her and sometimes took the liberty to tease her. Not that she minded. She liked being open with them specially because the subject she taught to these students was Psychology and it was just ten of them.
Kabir returned her smile with his own warm one and then jogged towards the primary department when she settled the kids near the stage and another end of the big ground of the school. She often liked to sit in the sun and teach these students because of the awful cold and because she could take advantage of them being a small batch. They were a sincere group of six girls and four boys.
Kabir was thankful to god for this part of his life. He was fond of kids, mostly because of the innocence that they held because of being shielded from the cruel outside world. He liked that the most past of his day was spent in this kind of an environment because he was tired of the otherwise outside world.
After spending six months in jail and then two months of additional rehab he was finally cleared to find himself a job and even work amongst kids if he wanted to. It was then he had decided to not go back home and shift in a small town far away from the worries of living in a big city. The only person he contacted was Jessica, his sister in-law, Shehnaaz's best friend. He called her up not to ask her to accompany him or something but just to let her know that he was thankful that she kept her trust in him and came to meet him a few times at the jail and that he had shifted to Solan and bought a sweet little cottage there.
