*3rd December, Maldives, 8 AM*
It was peaceful. Waking up to each other's faces in the morning with a light breeze coming in through the open windows and the sun peeping through the space between the two gorgeous curtains.
It had been so long since this had happened it almost felt like a dream coming true. They did not say anything, just looked at each other. A simple thing like gazing at each other held such importance at this point. Sidharth's phone pinged with a message again.
"It's the production house of the new song", He mumbled sleepily and tapped on the phone screen a few times before reading the message out aloud.
"We'd be glad if you could free your schedule and let us prepone the shoot by two weeks", He hissed as he read the last line, wondering if that was possible. He noticed how Shehnaaz thinned her lips and played with the corners of the pillow cover resting underneath her head. Her eyes and tone seemed distant as she made a sound as soon as he finished reading the message, telling him she was lost thinking about the past again.
Shehnaaz woke up from her sleep as she heard a few sounds and spread her arm to look for her husband. She snapped her eyes open as she realised she had fallen asleep while waiting for him to be back from work. The wall clock then drew her attention, and she gasped, realising it was past midnight. Looking around for her phone in the room, she desperately hoped there was a message in there but alas, if only her husband remembered that he had a wife at home. She tried dialling his number a few times, but the automated message said his phone was switched off. She let out a breath of relief when she heard the main door unlock and the faint sounds of his footsteps. It was weird, but a year into this marriage with him, she knew what the sound of his footsteps was like.
"Sidharth aap aa gaye? Kitna late baba," She murmured, walking into the kitchen as he slumped on the couch in the living room.
"Hmm..coffe milegi kya Sana?" He asked softly, tiredly rubbing his face.
"Itna late ho gaya Sidharth 1 baj raha hai neend udd jaayegi aap ki," She said, forwarding the glass of water.
"Please banado yaar, nahi banana hai toh mai khud bana lunga" He said in a bitter tone. She frowned but let it be, observing how tired he looked and walked away to the kitchen.
"Tum nahi peeyogi?" He asked as she sat beside him, yawning a little while she just shrugged. Her eyes went to the date on the mobile, and her eyes lit up.
"Kal ka plan set hai na Sidharth?" She confirmed.
"Kal? Kal kya hai?" He asked, sipping on his coffee with his eyes focused on the news feed on his phone.
"Kal valentines hai Sidharth aapne kahan tha hum din mai lunch par jaayenge and fir raat ko Shehbaaz bhi aa raha hai" She blabbered excitedly.
"Kal nahi ho paayega Sana, kaam mai kitna busy hu saans lene ki toh fursat nahi tum lunch ki baat kar rahi ho"
"Ye plan humne ek mahina pehle banaya tha Sidharth," She said with her eyebrows together.
"exactly ek mahina pehle tab nahi pata tha kaam ka-"
"Pata tha aapko Sidharth bohot acche se pata tha" She whispered, a little hurt. Was it just her who felt they were not giving enough time to each other? Well, enough was a big word; she did not remember the last time she sat and had a conversation with him that lasted more than twenty minutes at a stretch.
"Yaar Sana, go out have fun with Shehbaaz. I will try and make it for dinner with him, okay?" He said in a tired tone that made her give out a sad smile.
