Jannabelle's P.O.V

Hey Jan. How are you?" She washed her hands. A few days ago Evan invited me over to dinner, but, I've been very busy. With getting ready for collage and spending so much time with Evan, we both never actually sat down and ate a real meal.

"I'm fine, It's really been a while!" I smiled. "How have you been, Mrs.Thompson?"

"Oh dear, Ive been hanging in there." She smiled brightly. "Thank you."

For some reason, I felt so close to Mrs.Thompson. Maybe it's because I've been spending so much time with Evan. We've both decided to take the day and spend time with some of our friends. Honestly, I miss Evan dearly. He and some of his friends decided to go and play some football and 'let loose'. Amelia, Ashley and I decided to pick up a few things at the mall and let down our hair as well.

It's 6:30. Evan's dad is away on a business trip, so it's just Evan and his mom for the next couple of days. I helped Evan's mother put together something for dinner as Evan was on his way home.

Ding Dong! The doorbell rang.

"Yay, Evan's here!" I exclaimed. Saying Evan's name just makes me so excited.

"Look whose excited! I'll be right back, would you mind setting the table, dear?"

"Sure." I smiled.

I set the table while Mrs.Thompson ran to get the door.

A deep, unfamiliar voice yanked me out of my thoughts.

"Are you Marie Ruth J. Thompson?" The voice said loudly and heard throughout the whole house. My heart began beating.

The police? An door to door advertisement group? Who ever it was, Evan was defiantly not the person at the door.

I stayed in the kitchen, and stood still... listening.

"Yes sir," Her tone was very serious, yet nervous and shaky.

"There's someone waiting for you at the police station. Please come with us."

With that, I heard the heavy door slam as the whole house rung with a deep echo.

I froze.
