Accident?

"Hey." I plopped my books on the lunch table. "Have you seen, Evan?" I sat down and looked at Amelia.

She rolled her eyes and got up from the table. She looked furious and annoyed. What's happening? "Some friend you are..." She mumbled. I looked at her, confused. What is that suppose to mean?

"Am, what are you talking about?" I haven't done anything wrong, have I?
She picked up her books and huffed.
"Evan? He's the young soul you've been dedicating all of your life to." She smiled. "You know it's been 4 weeks since you and I talked? You've been too lost in Evan's eyes to notice." She took a few steps away from our table, but still faced me. 4 weeks? "And news flash, Evan got in a huge accident. Your just in you own world these days aren't you, Jan? Wake up." She walked towards a different table and sat down with kids I've never seen.

I sat at the table, by myself, speechless. 4 weeks? I realized I haven't talked to Amelia in a while. Ever since Evan asked me out Amelia and I haven't said a word to eachother. She was right. Way too lost in Evan's eyes.

My mind was blown. A bomb just blew up in my face.

An accident? Evan?

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed Evan's number. This can't be happening. Maybe he just fell off of his stake board or something. I reassured myself.

"Hello?" A woman answered.

"Hi, this is Jannabelle. Is Evan around?" I asked.

"Oh, hey Jan! How have you been?" The woman asked from the other end. Evan's mother answered the phone. She always found a way to start a conversation.

"Uhm...I'm fine. But, is it okay if I talk to Evan?" I asked again, getting more annoyed. My boyfriend is supposedly in an accident and I'm here talking to his mom about how I've been.

"I'm sorry. Evan is in serious condition. Talking to him isn't an option."

"Serious condition?" My head was spinning in a million directions. Evan was in the hospital. "What happened?" I asked.

"I don't know..." His mother said through the phone. "I got a call from the hospital saying that my son was involved in an accident."

Evan was in an accident, that I knew nothing about...

I need to get to the hospital. Walk there? Way to far. Amelia can't drive me. She can't even look at me without puking. Blake popped into my mind. Sure I didn't trust him, but, he was my only hope. I ran over to his table, completely forgetting my books, with only my phone in my hand.

"Hey, could you do me a huge favor?"
