Alfie's POV

I woke up extra early the next day and was out the house before the sun had risen properly, the smith child case had me spooked and i wanted to find out everything about Kayden before i brought it up.

silently i walked up and down every street hoping i would see her , it was a long shot and it didn't work, so i ended up at school an hour early.

Kayden's POV

slowly i sat up , my arm was a nasty shade of purple and my ribs had huge bruises on them but i was use to the pain by now. Quickly i washed and dressed so as my dad wouldn't see me and ran out the door.

I arrived at school with 10 minutes to spare , which was unusual but i couldn't wait to see all the teachers faces as i walked in on time so i sat on the floor under the window and rested my head on my knees hoping the dizzyness would pass.

Alfie's POV

"Alfie were are you going" leighton shouted as i dashed towards Kayden, she was sitting on the ground with her head on her knees and her hair was loosely hanging over her face.

"hey" i said sitting next to her , startled she lifted her head up and looked at me confused

"hey" she replied before looking away

"you're in early" i stated

"yep" she agreed, the convesation was forced and cold so i decided to be blunt

"do you live with your mum" i said rudely  

"what" she sounded confused but i couldn't detect anything else

"yesterday you said i could ask you questions so i am, remember" i said matter o factly

"no i don't " she replied before walking away.

no i don't remember or no i don't live with my mum , that question bugged me all day until final bell went and i dashed out of school and waited at the gate. i waited for half an hour before Kayden showed up and when she did i walked behind her.

"so answere my question" i said catching up to her

"no" she replied bowing her head so i couldn't see her face

"ok new question , were did you get the name Kayden" i said with a smirk on my face

" go home Alfie" she snarled 

"no i'm walking you home , answere the question" i said with a happy tone, she was so cute when she tryed to be angry "kayden are you ok" i wispered when she didn't answere, "kayden" i said putting my hand on her sholder and turning her round so what little face was showing was facing me.

"leave me alone " she said trying to get away but i had my hands on her sholders keeping her infront of me. we stood in silence for a few secounds before i broke it.

"new question , why wont you let anyone in" i wispered she didn't respound so i slowly lifted my hand and brushed her soft brown hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. The secound she realised what i was doing she ducked her head so as i couldn't see her face, gently i put my hand under her chin and lifted her head so her eyes were looking into mine.Her face was pale with big eyes the blue eye was like the sky and the green eye like an emerald , she was more beautiful than any other girl in the school.

"stop it " she said looking me in the eyes

"stop what" i replied not daring to let go in case she ran

"stop looking at me like you can't see it" she said her voice filled with self hate 

"see what " i responded dropping my hand from her face and placing it on her waist

"doesn't matter " she wispered pulling away and letting her hair fall around her face again before running up the street. I knew exactly what she ment, the scar that went behind her ear and the one that went just past her hair line above her right eye, i could see it and it didn't change how i felt about her she was still the most beautiful girl i had ever saw.
