Chapter 1 - The Last

"FOUND YOU!" Your friend said as she jumped at you from where you were hiding.

You laughed. "No fair. Archidons are so good at this game!" It was true. Your friend was an Archidon. Everyone knew that they had great senses.

You were playing hide and seek with a group of friends. One of them, Lila, was an Archidon.

The others were Hex and Braeburn. Hex was a Magikill. Braeburn was a Spearton. You were a Swordwrath.

It was an unusual group of friends, but you were all really close. Right now, you were playing hide and seek in the Desert.

"Looks like someone is bad at this game." Lila pointed to Braeburn, who was hiding behind a rock. But you could see his helmet peeking out.

Lila laughed and went to him. "FOUND YOU!" She shrieked. "What? How did you find me?" Braeburn asked.

"Maybe you should try taking off your helmet next time." You told him. "Oh." Braeburn said. "Ok."

Braeburn was still a young Spearton. He was the same age as all of us: 7 years old. He dosen't have the pride of a Spearton yet.

"Okie! All we need to do now is find Hex." Lila smiled. "Good luck finding him." Braeburn said.

Hex was a young Magikill. He was still quick and agile unlike the regular Magikill. He was also really smart.

Lila continued looking for Hex. You and Braeburn just sat and watched her. After a while, Lila still hasn't found Hex.

"Ugh, Hex! I give up!" She called out. "Where are you?!" Then, you all heard a giggle. Looking at a dead tree, you saw Hex getting out of the tree's bark.

"You didn't check the tree?" Hex asked as he fixed his hat. Lila sighed. "Yeah. Looks like you win."

"Yeah!" Hex said. Braeburn yawned. "Ok this is getting boring." He told everyone. "I think we should take a break." You suggested.

You all went back to where your parents were. You rested for a while before you went back to playing.

"What did you kids do?" Lila's mom asked. "We played hide and seek!" Lila replied. "And I won!" Hex added.

Hex's dad laughed. "Ok. What are planning to do next?" He asked. "Not sure." You answered.

"I want to go to the desert again." Braeburn said. "I wanna look at something."

"Well, you kids be careful." Your dad told you. "The desert is one of the closest areas to the Chaos Empire."

"You mean the place with the ugly snake lady and the skeletons?" Braeburn asked.

Hex sighed. "They're called Medusa and the skeletons are called Marrowkai." He explained." Braeburn rolled his eyes.

"Don't worry. We'll be fine!" Lila smiled as she got her quiver. "Cmon! Lets go already!"

You nodded as you got your sword. Braeburn picked up his shield and spear. Hex took his staff.

Soon, you all went back to playing in the desert. You were playing tag this time. Hex was trying to catch Braeburn.

Until Hex stopped running. You and Lila stopped and wondered why. "Braeburn! I think you're going too far!" He called out.

You and Lila look to see Braeburn really far from all of you. "Its fine!" He called to all of you. "I think Hex is right." You said. "We're not supposed to go too far remember?"

Braeburn laughed. "Oh come on. Its just a legend. I bet the Chaos Empire is just a joke to scare kids like us." He said. He waved at us. "Come on!"

You, Lila, and Hex looked at each other. You cautiously went to Braeburn and continued your game.

However, after a while, nothing seemed to happen. Maybe Braeburn was right. The Chaos Empire is probably just a made up story.

You went deeper into the desert. Your worries started to go away. Everything was going fine...

...

...

...

...

... Until you heard a scream.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!! GUYS HELP ME!" You, Hex, and Braeburn heard Lila. You ran to her and got frightened at what you saw.

Braeburn pulled you and Hex behind a rock. You watched from there. What you saw scared you.

There was some sort of armored person with a shield and an axe. There were 2 or 3 of them. They surronded Lila who was shaking in fear.

"Juggerknights." You heard Hex whisper. "They are heavily armoured units from the Chaos Empire."

"Wait, so the Chaos Empire is real?" You asked. Braeburn was worried and scared, too. You watched Lila and hoped the Juggerknights wouldn't hurt her.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" One of the Juggerknights asked. "An Archidon invading our land!"

Lila was too scared to reply. "What are you doing here?" The second Juggerknight sneered at her.

"I was just playing a game with my friends." Lila managed to say. "Friends? There are more of you?" The third Juggerknight asked.

Lila nodded. You felt a tap on your shoulder. "(YN), lets go get help." Braeburn said. "Ok." You replied.

As you started to walk away, Hex froze. He was staring at something. You and Braeburn looked to see a skeleton looking down at you.

"GAH!" Braeburn yelped. It caught the attention of the Juggerknights. "Get them." The first one commanded. "RUN!" Hex shouted.

Lila escaped and made a run for it. Everyone else did the same. Lila was farther behind.

You heard her scream again. You turned around and saw something you wanted to forget.

A Juggerknight grabbed Lila by her hand. He raised his axe and threw it down on Lila's head.

Hex turned around and saw what happened. Braeburn too. Horrified, you all ran even faster to avoid Lila's fate.

But then you heard Hex scream. You and Braeburn turn and saw that a Juggerknight threw his axe and it hit Hex's chest. His dead body fell on the sand.

You and Braeburn try to run as fast as you can. But then Braeburn froze. "What are you doing?!" You yell at him.

"I can't move!" He replied. You saw that there was a black figure behind him. It moved towards the Marrowkai.

It dragged Braeburn along with it. "No!" You shouted. But it was too late. Braeburn was brought close to the skeleton and the Marrowkai stabbed him with its staff.

You were the only one left standing.
